My self-summary
I'm a laid back guy with a good heart and an intellectual focus. I grew up on carnival lots and when I could I went to college. I got my degree but all along the way I've not had much luck in love. I am not into large parties or bars so I don't meet many single women. I'm basically looking for a best friend who might want more, much more.
What I’m doing with my life
I finished my degree (Environmental Land Use Planning) and am looking forward to grad school though it seems I will have to put it off for a while. I want to get into green energy development. I have also just begun writing the first in a series of novels. Looking for a "just get by" job until either I get into grad school or sell my novels. On Sundays evening I tell an interactive story for my friends.
I’m really good at
Writing almost anything (I think) and debating while keeping a cool head. I'm also really good at understanding, just in general. Also massages. I'm also extremely open minded, so open minded I'm probably inside out. I have opinions of my own of course but I am willing to analyze anything from any angle either as mental exercise or to legitimately challenge my preconceptions. I can also cook rather well, my roommate raves about my spaghetti sauce and I routinely sell my chili.

I'm also very good at being awkward on internet dating sites apparently...
The first things people usually notice about me
Visually that would most likely be my long, red, wavy hair. Unless I'm wearing my black leather trench coat.

Conversationally that would probably be that I am easy to talk to or my vocabulary (though sometimes I talk like a caveman for funsies too).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These are in the order I thought of them in, not in order of favorite to least favorite.

Books - Book of the subGenius, Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe, Dirk Gently, Elric Saga, Watchmen, Terry Pratchet, JTHM, I don't read as much as I'd like to, school has nearly ruined my will to read for recreation though I'm trying to convince myself to start the Foundation series.

Movies - Ghostbusters 1&2, TMNT 1&2, Nightmare Before Xmas, The Big Lebowski, Star Wars 4-6, The Point, Return of the Living Dead (original), Stranger than Fiction, Boondock Saints 1&2, Clerks 1&2, Grandma's Boy, Blood & Ice Cream "Trilogy", Heavy Metal, 5000 Fingers of Dr. T, O Brother Where Art Though, Bruce Campbell Stuff, Office Space, Django, Rocky Horror, Repo: The Genetic Opera, Forest Gump, Studio Ghibli, Wallace & Gromit, Cemetary Man, Pootie Tang, SLC Punk!, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Alien 1&2, The Gods Must Be Crazy, The Troll Hunter, Rubber, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Wizards, UHF, Troma is amazing

These are somewhat truncated lists, my media interests have a vast range but I thought these would highlight the flavor of media I tend towards. I can also be pretty picky sometimes. (Twilight can eat my ass)
The six things I could never do without
1. My brain
2. New information
3. Life's little essentials (food, water, etc)
4. The night sky
5. D&D (table-top rpgs in general)
6. Slack
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophy, fiction, slack, the end of the world, the growing rifts in our society, romance, the next week's adventure, so very many things. I can't stop my brain from constantly mulling something over, often I am thinking about several things at once.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home writing or playing video/board-games with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Some guys are into butts or breasts or legs, but I'm an eye guy. Also the Babylon 5 series finale has been known to draw tears out of me if watched late enough. (During the giddy hours)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You like weird nerds with long red hair. If you like nice guys who won't treat you like shit. If you like old school D&D, video games, debating/discussing ALL topics and/or thunderstorms then you should definitely contact me.
