I have many favourite films. Brazil, City of God, Children of Men, The Fall, Brick, The Class, Pan's Labyrinth, Before Sunrise/Sunset would all make the list. Also a few super cheesy things like Independence Day and Gladiator. I like films that are inventive with their storytelling and leave themselves open to different interpretations. Every year I go to one of the largest horror film festivals in Britain and it's always brilliant.
TV: Community, Arrested Development, Darkplace, Black Books, Peep Show, Buffy, Farscape, Now and Again, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, Thick of It, West Wing, Screenwipe, the documentaries of Adam Curtis.
Once upon a time I did a lot of music journalism and I still keep up with new music. I'm a big fan of Daft Punk, Justice, the National (as my username attests), Arcade Fire, Owen Pallett, Patrick Wolf, Beirut, Burial, Neutral Milk Hotel, Tunng, Kanye West, Fuck Buttons, Apparat, Caribou, and synthpop bands like M83, Lazerhawk, Chromatics etc.
Humous. Ethiopian food. I really like trying new cuisines. I also stole cake decorating as a hobby from a friend of mine and have never looked back.
