My self-summary
These are some facts:
-I love rain, like riding the El, yet have no opinion on riding the El while it's raining. I probably mention this because I'm on the El right now, and it is raining.
-while we're living in the now, I should mention that my right shoe is giving me a blister.
-Chicago is probably my favorite place.
-I pride myself on being a top-drawer, top-notch gift-giver.
-In school I designed my own major in 'Narrative Structure and Practice'.
-My birthday was last week. I can understand why you forgot but I'm still a little disappointed.
-Post-one-bottle-of-wine, my roommate and I hot glued googly eyes to all of our cookware. Now our kitchen always looks bewildered.
What I’m doing with my life
- Writing/Reading/Acting/Drawing. All those good ol' art-things.
- Trying to explore all that Chicago has to offer! I'm real into the comedy, theatre, and LiveLit going on around town, and am trying to hit all the museum discount days I can.
- Learning Spanish!¡!¡! And sign language. And some theories of physics. If you can provide any new and interesting brainfood I will like that very much.
- Makin some mean curry.
I’m really good at
Crossword Puzzles. Every morning my Dad e-mails me a crossword puzzle, and then later in the week we compare answers to fill in what the other didn't get. I guess that's not so much something I'm good at as something My Dad and I are good at... My Dad and I are also good at foosball, and watching Cash Cab.

I'm also an expert doodler/illustrator, and I love writing sketch. I don't know if my Dad is very good at either of those things but don't hold it against him.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lists, lists, lists!

BOOKS: My top pick right now is without a doubt Jagganath by Karin Tidbeck. Some old favorites are George Saunders' short story collection CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Lolita, History of Love by Nicole Krauss, Breakfast of Champions, We Need to Talk About Kevin, ISHMAEL. Edward Albee's "Zoo Story" is the best play. Kafka's "A Hunger Artist" is a worthwhile four pages.
I just finished Eggers's How We Are Hungry and loved it, so I'm on to tackling A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. Though I'm on hold because I left it at a friend's house by accident. If you are reading this, and are the friend whose house I left it at, please give me back my book.
Books are great. I highly recommend them. Everybody read books.

MOVIES: Beasts of the Southern Wild!!!
Also, The Darjeeling Limited, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Another Earth, Fargo, Up, Wet Hot American Summer, to name a few.

TV SHOWS: Louie, Portlandia, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Community, Sherlock, etc etc etc

RADIO: Radio Lab, This American Life, NPR in general

MUSIC: I am snoopin out new music but as of right now it's Alt J, Fitz & the Tantrums, Alabama Shakes, Black Keys, Laura Mvula, The Head & The Heart, and Thao & the Get Down Stay Down. It should also be noted that Beyoncé is the queen of all things.

FOOD: Brussels Sprouts are my underdog of choice. Blueberries and thai food are also pretty great. I love love cooking. As a recent vegan, I'm digging the play element of finding new recipes and creative alternatives.
