My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there :) I'm a tad eccentric. Grounded enough in the real world but also looking to extract as much fun from it as possible once those needs are met. I have a sarcastic sense of humor and am somewhat of a geek at heart. I am into Science, History, some sports (Football and Hockey mainly), Movies (big time), some video games...especially Eve Online, some reading (I'm choosey here), current events, and pondering life's many imponderables with willing participants. I am very non-judgemental about how others live their life and respect those who are true to themselves and their beliefs. I am, however, not a fan of those who are overtly judgmental themselves. I workout on a regular basis and enjoy active pursuits as well. I can be talked into the occasional roadtrip or travel destination, especially if there is something historical or sports related to explore/enjoy. I am always seeking challenges in all aspects of my life.

I am smart, funny, and curious
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now, I work, keep active, and spend time with friends online. Enjoying my job, and just my life in general right now. That and eternally trying to finish that next book. The more I travel, the more I read. I used to be rather heavy and plan on keeping that past tense.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hmmm....Making people laugh is probably right up there. Sarcasm!, good conversations, math, storing lots of useless info in my head, sticking up for those close to me when they are being wronged, intelligent conversations, going on indignant rants about stuff that should bother most people (in the right company...I am never intentionally rude if I can help it) :) There are many other things I try and wish I was better at, but I usually like the challenge either way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Depends on the situation...sense of humor, smile, intelligence, drive?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Fav books and authors:The Killer Angels, Tides of War, Gates of Fire, J.R.R. Tolkien, George RR Martin, Shelby Foote, Bruce Catton, First and Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. many I could name. The Right Stuff, Excalibur, Alien or Aliens, Let the Right One In, Zombieland, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Office Space, The Thing, Altered States, Patton, Princess Bride, Conan the Barbarian, Monty and the Holy Grail, Troy, The Matrix...way too many others.

Music: Basically like just about anything but country. Have a particular affinity to Classic Rock, Alternative, Hardcore Techno and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Fav group of all time is Led Zeppelin. Currently on a Pendulum and The Prodigy kick.

Love Chinese and Italian. Not a fan of Seafood or Indian. Mexican is good..but don't do salsa...tomatoes are blech. Nothing wrong with good ol meat and potatoes, especially if that meat is a thick steak. :)

TV: History, Discovery or Science channel, BBC America, specifically for Dr. Who, Top Gear and yes...Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. Game of Thrones has been great and so has Breaking Bad. NFL Network, Avs games when they are on, The new Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Burn Notice, Star Trek, House. The HBO series Rome was awesome.

Not a big fan of sitcoms or crime dramas btw. Too formula driven and predictable. I think the head guy on CSI Miami has taken lessons from the William Shattner School of Overacting and pregnant pauses. :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Those close to me
A good challenge
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I try not to shrink from pondering any topic. State of our world, our country and even our existence. The story I've been building for the last 15 years and only written small pieces of. Why we cant have a playoff system for college football?...j/k :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Home either working out, on the net or watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't have a lot of, the fact that outward signs aside...I'm deep down rather shy :)

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are secure in yourself as your own person and, for the most part, enjoy who that person is. If you too are a geek at heart but not totally inactive. If you are curious about the world, intelligent, and have a fire for life in general. Interest in sports, history, scifi, horror films or current events are a big plus :)
