I’m playful, a bit animated and I find humor everywhere (tho I hate the word "humor"); it’s how my head works. I’m creative and artistic; you won’t find a white wall in my house.

Didn't know how much I loved kids until I had my own. I have 2 daughters who think it’s cute dad’s dating again. They're both off to college so it's really quiet around here....

It's been a long time since I've waltzed or 2-stepped across a ballroom. I’ll dance with you even if we’re the only couple on the floor. Sometimes I prefer it that way. Dancing in the kitchen with the lights down is nice too. I make it up as I go.

I listen to classic country music but enjoy a mix of old soul like Marvin Gaye/Smoky Robinson, Crooners from the 40s - 70s, and a bunch of other stuff. I’d like to hear more Latin music and new music. Love bluegrass and getting lost in the beat at a Cancun disco.

I love the outdoors, and take an occasional camping trip. A million stars, grilled fish, rain leaking thru the tent – doesn’t get much better than that. Okay, maybe not the rain part. Moving more towards staying in a cabin.

I like to watch movies tho I haven’t seen many in recent years. The most moving part of “Saving Private Ryan” wasn’t the battle scenes. It was the mother in her apron and house-dress falling to her knees as the “notification officer” drove up the farm lane. See “Mean Girls” (a teen-girl comedy) if you haven’t: “I wish I could make a cake out of rainbows and smiles.” Too funny.

I'm an NPR guy, not much of a TV guy. I’ll watch sports, but I’m usually doing something else at the same time. Commercials drive me nuts. I was an exceptional defensive tackle in high school because I put my heart into it. I stay in shape from working at it.

I don’t wear jewelry. Never have. I worked in the suit world for several years, so you can dress me up and I won’t look like I “just fell off a turnip truck.”

With the help of a generous expense account ;-) I learned to appreciate good wine and single malt Scotch. I rarely drink anything stronger than beer anymore. Oh ... but I do like a good IPA (beer) on tap. There was nothing better back in the day than sitting around with my brothers drinking Old Style in cans after spending all day building (or destroying) something.

I’m organized, frugal and financially smart/responsible. I am tough and assertive, but it’s important to me that you are too. While I want to spend time with you I also need my space. I need you to have a life/career beyond me as well as a strong sense of self.

Come dance with me…
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Transitioning. Contemplating possible career and location moves now that my youngest is in college. Make me an offer. ;-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'd say I'm pretty good at a lot of things, but I really don't like "going there." I'll let you form your own opinions. You will anyway.

I dunno. Probably my height. Possibly my weight. Around here, most guys my age have another 30+ lbs.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Overly dramatic question don't you think? I'm always asking myself, "What things *can* I do without?" Trying to keep things in perspective.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
walking downtown to eat fish and watch the Brewers at 2-Brothers Bar & Grill. The grilled salmon is the best, but the grouper and walleye aren't far behind.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I still miss Karen Carpenter. Her hair blowing in the breeze in concert circa 1976. "Close to you ..."
