The last year has been one of incredible tumult. I have had both the highest highs and lowest lows. At this time, i am concentrating on a road of personal development, setting some big goals, and diversifying my business holdings.

It’s kind of a bad cliché to say you work hard and play hard, so I’ll say that I work smart and play often. I own three pharmacies; each with their own distinct character. One is a large retail pharmacy with 25 employees. Another is a small, niche business specializing in hospice and long term care. The third, in Newport Beach, works with major league sports teams and pain management. All are interesting businesses that makes my work life interesting, stimulating, and rewarding. And, they give me great freedom.

One thing I refuse to do is be a slave to my work. I rarely work Fridays, much less weekends. I am very involved in the cycling community either as a team host, sponsor, or club rider.

Between visiting family back east, heading up to Oregon see the Beavs play football, or working in NB, I have been racking up the frequent flyer miles. . One huge highlight of the year was going to the major league baseball winter meetings and getting to meet the athletic training staff of all the MLB teams. This year, i am looking forward to a century ride in Colorado and possible, a cycling trip through the Swiss Alps.

running my businesses and being a great boss to my employees (they are the ones that make it possible for me to have the lifestyle i enjoy).

that i wear shorts in the middle of winter. But hey, i have to show off my cycling calves.

Movies- Gladiator, Animal House, Up in the Air, Groundhog Day, Silence of the Lambs, Caddyshack, The old Bond Films, Bourne series.

TV Shows- Chopped, college and pro football, golf, cycling, CBS Sunday morning, Family Guy, Big Bang Theory

Music- Natalie Merchant, Coldplay, Gordon Lightfoot, Lady Gaga, Boston, thats a pretty good variation. dont care for country much.

Books- mostly historical non-fiction or biographies. just finished reading Tyler Hamilton's book on doping in pro cycling. A very good, quick read.

The ringtones of the ones I love, fall colors on a bike ride through the vineyards, the smell of a freshly cut lawn on a summer day, the sight of a 30 foot putt tracking to the middle of the cup, the feeling of accomplishment after a very hard work out, and my relief pharmacist who lets me enjoy my 3 day weekends.

Where has the time gone and what can i get done with what i have left.

going to The City for an opera or play, flying home from Newport Beach if i worked there that day, heading to Oregon for an OSU Beav's game, recovering from a long ride during the day, or maybe poker with the boys.

While I am not the king of all fantasy football geeks, i probably know where the castle is.
