Hi there, how are ya? My name is Brian, and I'd like to welcome you to my profile. :)

To start with, I'm originally from Philadelphia, and have been living in Los Angeles for nearly eight years. I am blessed to have an amazing collection of friends who love and support me, as well as two adorable cats who give me love on a daily basis.

What else is there? On the professional side, I work in Internet advertising, a job I really enjoy but don't see as a lifelong career. I blog a lot...I mean a LOT over on LiveJournal, and hope to blog professionally in the near future.

On the personal side, as a geek there are a lot of things I'm passionate about. Science fiction, fantasy, novels, TV shows, movies and video games. Thankfully I've learned over the years how to balance these passive passions with an active social life, so I have a lovely balance between my own alone time (which is important) and time with my wonderful friends (which is also important).

It's also through these passions such as science fiction that I've met many of my amazing friends. I'm a very outgoing person, and have no trouble talking to anyone about nearly anything, and this has helped me secure an amazing friend base. I also find that friends come to me when they need help with...well, nearly anything...relationships, life, computers, you name it. I've been called a "closet healer," and I guess its true because I do love listening to people and helping them with their issues or problems.

I'm living my life as best I can each day, trying to be the best person I can be. I love to be active with friends as well as stay in and relax. I'm currently working a job that I enjoy, but as I said earlier, I don't get a ton of fulfillment out of. I eventually would like to be a professional blogger and work from home, but that will take time.

I'm really good at karaoke, computers, useless trivia, making other people laugh and smile, and being outgoing and friendly. I'm also very good at listening to people, helping them through tough situations and feeling better and more confident about themselves.

The first things people usually notice about me, so I'm told, is my outgoing personality and my eyes. Then people seem to notice my voice and my laugh. :)

My favorite books are the Dresden Files series, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Horatio Hornblower series and usually military history. I read a LOT of books, and usually have several going on at one time.

My favorite movies are Office Space, Airplane, Serenity, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Juno, Blade Runner, Kingdom of Heaven and Master and Commander, just to name a few. My favorite genre's are science fiction, comedy and action, but I do love a good drama. Only movies I really don't like are straight-up horror films.

Favorite TV shows include Firefly, Supernatural, Dexter, Arrested Development, Titus, House, Heroes, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Rockford Files, Alien Nation, Space: Above and Beyond, Buffy, Angel, Batman: The Animated Series, Gargoyles, Animaniacs and many more.

My favorite music groups that first come to mind are The Beatles, Offspring, Audioslave, XTC, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Louis Prima, Louis Jordan, The Living End, Tori Amos, The Indigo Girls, Abba, Earth Wind and Fire, The Gap Band, Toad the Wet Sprocket and more that aren't coming to mind at the the moment.

My favorite foods are pasta, seafood and sushi. Oh, and I'll kill a man for a good piece of cheesecake. ;)

If we're talking about physical objects, six things I could never live without include my cats, my keys, my wallet, my cell phone, my computer, and my media player.

If we're talking more esoteric things, the things I can't live without are honesty, friendship and love.

This is a hard one to answer. I spend a lot of time thinking on how to improve myself and make myself better, but if I'm with someone, I spend a lot of time thinking about them and how to make them happy as well.

Hanging out with friends at my normal karaoke bar in the valley, seeing live music, staying home and relaxing, or at a party with friends.
