My Self-Summary

I chose my username when I lived in Venice, but now I live in Naples, but I can't change my username, but you can call me Naplesguy4u! I recently returned to Naples and the practice of massage therapy, after a two year hiatus in Venice, and I'm thoroughly loving living and working in Naples. I live near the beach and 5th Avenue, so I spend a lot of time on or near the beach, either fishing, walking, kayaking, or just hanging out.

I'm mindful, spontaneous, fun, caring, and thoughtful. I'm equally comfortable in a tux or shorts, and although staying at the Ritz can be fun, I'd probably prefer camping. I'm progressive in my views, and I live a very spiritual, but not religous life.

What I’m doing with my life

Trying to live every day and be in the moment! Always being mindful of the level of joy in my life.

I’m really good at

Enjoying life and living it to the fullest on a regular basis.

I'm kind of good at riding my bike, which I've done in lot of places, including Canada, the Oregon Coast, and Holland, I usually do a 100-mile ride on my birthday.

The first things people usually notice about me

my eyes, my size, my smile, and my legs. Blue eyes. I'm a big guy, 6-3, 230 pounds(moderately athletic), and I tend to smile a lot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Unknown Teachings of Lao Zsu, What the Buddha Taught by Tich Naht Hahn, anything written by Carl Hiassen or Hemingway, Movies: A Beautiful Mind, Bourne movies. Music: I like several types of music, e.g., rock, blues, reggae, ska, hip hop, classical, etc. I don't care for country or hardcore rap, although I am quite fond of the Black Eyed Peas and Fergie. I like good food of many types. I'm especially fond of chicken, or almost anything else, on the grill and pizza. I ran a health food store, so I also like all the good stuff like yogurt, soy, most vegetables, etc.

The six things I could never do without

I try not to be attached to too many "things", so saying I could "never do without something" goes against a life philosophy of simplicity. That absolutely sounds corny, but in my case, I try to live this way.

However, I have recently gotten a little attached to my new Nissan Rogue. I hadn't bought a new car in a long time, and I'm really enjoying this one. It's just begging for a road trip, with the sweet audio and sunroof, and enough room to hall tents, bikes, kayaks, or whatever.

I could live, but I wouldn't want to without laughter, sunset, smiles, music, friends, and family.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I'm doing at any particular moment. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about the future or dwelling on the past. I do think about how we're mindlessly trashing the planet and wonder what the life expectancy of this fragile place might be, but I don't dwell on it, because it can get you depressed.

On a typical Friday night I am

meeting friends at some type of game, event, or happening or grilling at my sister's house for the gang.
