I'm Adam and I'm a huge optimist. I love being all over the place
when it comes to life. I don't really like planning a full day. I
much rather begin somewhere, and finish up with a completely new
and interesting ending. I feel what's the point of living if you're
not doing it to enjoy yourself. Although, I do have lots of goals
and I care a great deal about people. I swear I've found the
perfect amount of hedonism.
What I’m doing with my life
Working on a tech start up right now pretty pumped for the future, while in the background editing my resume, and applying to adult jobs to fund said start up. I also work nights and weekends at a large electronics store cause I'm a huge nerd and love telling people about technology, also that discount is bomb.
I’m really good at
I play devil's advocate a lot. Not to be "that guy" but just because I like to see situations from so many different angles, and always try to put myself in someone else's shoes. So one could say I'm good at being empathetic. Actually when someone mentions the word empathy, I get excited because it's such a beautiful concept. I've been told a couple times I have a "feel good" aura, which sounds pretty awesome, so I guess I can say I naturally make people happy.
The first things people usually notice about me
My dreadlocks! I cut all my hair off before high school graduation and haven't looked back since. Not gonna lie I kinda love my hair. I'd also say people notice my constant smile. It's actually really hard for me to make a straight face on command.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Autobiography of Malcolm X, Badass: The Book, Howl's Moving Castle & Castle in the Air, The Book of Five Rings, The Illiad, Daisy Miller, Present Shock, Mindfulness In Simple Words, The System, and The Dharma of Star Wars. Also I read Harry Potter 1-4 as a kid but never opened 5-7 and I still have absconded from watching the movies in hopes I'll one day finish the books.
Movies: Fight Club, The Matrix, Bridesmaids, Mad Max: Fury Road, Rush Hour series, Princess Mononoke, Old School Kung Fu movies, The Hulk (one with Edward Norton), and Grandma's Boy. Also my favorite Disney movie is The Hunchback of Notre Dame because it's way too intense to be a children's movie.
Shows: Cosmos, Planet Earth, Chappelle Show(RIP), Rick &Morty, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Broad City (I'm totally Ilana), mostly anything on Adult Swim, Workaholics, South Park, and Game of Thrones but it's really hard for me to invest myself in a whole season of a serious show, plus I hate cliffhangers so this is a big step for me.
Music: I'll be honest I love hip hop/rap above all else especially anything with heavy southern influences. However, I still have a wide range of stuff that I really jam to Alt, Folk, Indie, Trance, Rock, Pop whatev. I went to StarLab Fest this summer and it was a bunch of awesome punk/alt/folk type stuff and was an amazing vibe.
Food: So many types: Mexican, Thai, Ethiopian, Korean, Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese...really whatever you put in front of me, with a penchant for really spicy food. Recently tried Cambodian food and it's already zoomed up the ranks of my favorite cuisines. I also enjoy cooking and I'm not too bad at it.
The six things I could never do without
-Rapper ad libs
-Staying up the whole night to sleep at dawn
-Empathy gotta say it again
-Being around others
-Shaking my extremities
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of time thinking about nothing. I enrolled in a meditation class senior year of high school and it was pretty cool. I kinda motivated myself to meditate at first because I figured it would help me manifest my latent Jedi powers. My username came about cause I love Venn diagrams and I'm always trying to see relations/similarities between things I'm usually the first to tell someone they look kinda like that famous person. It probably doesn't help that my mind jumps around quickly. Also I'm still trying to figure out how I can be a more helpful straight male ally to whichever causes I can contribute to.
On a typical Friday night I am
Blasting music and shaking my dreads, regardless if I'm at home or
at a party. I really like to dance and if you can move (or you
can't but you try anyways) then I'd love to share a makeshift dance
floor with you. Seriously all you people out there that think
they're hopeless, rhythm is just practice, no sweat!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I feel semi artistic I'll listen to Kate Nash, cause
"sometimes I wish I was...like Ma-ri-ella!" I miss my oil painting
class in high school.

You should message me if you think there's more to me worth

I'm an open book really just talk to me and I'll make sure I keep
