My self-summary
Product manager at a small software company from 8-5, nerd at every other hour. My favorite discussion topics are science fiction, history (military and later Imperial era in particular), politics (federal and foreign), and a general mash of science/business/gaming.

I consider myself a pretty informed person about national and world events; I especially enjoy keeping up with foreign politics in trouble spots (like the Middle East).

Hobbies have been winnowed down by time commitments over the last couple years but I love to cook, dabble in photography when I get the chance, and spending time gaming with friends (online or tabletop). I like traveling and adventure, but unfortunately don't get to do either nearly as often as I'd like due to lack of adventuring partners.
What I’m doing with my life
I work at an HR software company in Lafayette, primarily overseeing feature development for our product, along with marketing responsibilities. It has its ups and downs, but I generally enjoy it and its nice making an impact in an organization instead of being a replaceable cog at a larger corporation.
I’m really good at
being reliable and funny. I also make an excellent problem-solver as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
I smile a lot, and I have a cynical sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fiction Books: A few examples would be the Hitchiker's Guide series, most of Asimov's work, along with Weber's Honor Harrington series, Iain Banks' Culture novels, Harry Potter, and A Song of Ice and Fire by GRRM.

Non-Fiction: The Guns of August, Castles of Steel, Nixonland, Wizards of Armageddon, Rumors of War, With the Old Breed, State of Denial.

Movies: Wide taste, but I'll give a few examples: Burn After Reading, Children of Men, Watchmen, Brazil, Inglorious Basterds, Apocalypse Now, Django Unchained, Cabin in the Woods.

Music: Pretty wide taste. Some examples would be Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, Murder by Death, Muse, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Mumford & Sons, Kesha, and Of Monsters and Men.

Television: I don't really watch much TV anymore, but I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones and House of Cards.

Games: Planetside 2, Paradox games, Borderlands-series, and so on. I finally started playing Skyrim finally thanks to Steam's winter sale.

Food: I enjoy basically anything. Typically the spicier something is, the happier I am with it. Thai and Indian cuisine are particular favorites. I think of myself as a pretty decent cook, I'm always finding and trying out new recipes and experimenting with the ones I like.
The six things I could never do without
Family and friends, the internet, my phone, cats, and oxygen.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future, and how world events will unfold.
On a typical Friday night I am
Generally out with friends or playing online with other friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm honestly pretty open about most things, if you're curious about something just ask.
You should message me if
you are a science-fiction or gaming fan, like history or politics, or love cats.
