I like to think I'm reserved, and dedicated. There's things I want in life and I'm going to get that, which is why I'm here.
For as long as I can remember the visual arts have called to me, especially so if it tells a story, and I've embraced it as best I can by becoming a digital artist. I have a love of painting, drawing, comics, animation and more. Alphonse Mucha, Craig Mullins, Ian McCaig, those names have meaning to me as both inspirations and a goal that I'm still striving to obtain.
I'm very much a skeptic, into critical thinking, science based medicine, politics, etc. Now, this is not the same as dismissing everything offhand, but just show me the evidence. A world where people based opinions on properly done science, no agendas, is a place that sounds better to me. Overcome Occam's razor, extraordinary claims, and all that. I can have strong views, but like to back them up with evidence before I subject people to them. But, most importantly, I respect others opinions, especially in areas that regard to more subjective human topics.
I have traveled, mostly through Asia, and plan to make my next big trip a roundabout trip through Europe, and this time I'll remember to bring my sketchbook. There's places I want to see before the sea swallows them.
Part of the reason I'm on here is I need an excuse to cook more. I've made such delectables as Irish cream cupcakes to Japanese restaurant style ramen with braised pork. I want friends and someone close to share it with, and maybe pitch in for ingredients.
I love teas, coffee, and strangely enough whiskey instead of beer. Usually coffee concoctions with names much longer than my own, and teas that both delicate and strong. But, a good root beer can be harder to come by than either.
