My self-summary
Sometimes I think my life has a laugh track....

I went to film school, worked as a video producer for 15 years before ending up at an advertising agency. (Yeah, it's kind of like "Mad Men" except we don't smoke and drink in the office... at least, we don't smoke.) It has affected the way I see the world. I picture my life as if it were a movie (or TV show). I’m the main character in the film of my life. Friends and family are supporting characters. Everyone else who passes through my life are “extras”.

I think we sometimes get so caught up in the drama (or comedy) of our own lives, that we forget that our movie isn’t universal. While we are the “star” of our “film”, we are only a supporting character or extra in someone else’s life. That isn’t to say that our roles in the lives of others are insignificant… to the contrary, we can often deliver key plot points. But we sometimes forget that what is so very important to us may not be quite as important to someone else… and vice versa.

However, I've realized over time that the great screenwriter in the sky isn't really out to get me (although he or she has a really good sense of humor!). I know that I'm just a supporting character or extra in the lives of others. The movie of my life isn't always a black comedy. Sometimes it is a romantic comedy. Other times it is an action/adventure or thriller. Although I enjoy science fiction and horror, I try to avoid those in the film of my life. I'm not a fan of melodrama either -- I'm trying to make this movie enjoyable.

While I think my life ought a laugh track because ironic and funny things always seem to happen to me -- serious things happen too, but some laughter in the background would lighten the mood. If my life were a comedy movie, I’d cast John Cusack to play me. If it were a dramatic film, then I’d be played by Andy Garcia. I’ve already assembled an imaginary cast for my family and most of my friends. I guess I’m on here looking for a “co-star”. Someone with whom I can share the important scenes of my life. A counterpart for dialogue both witty and sincere. Our plots would intertwine and we could help each other achieve our goals. Who would play you in a movie about your life? If you don’t know, drop me a note and let's get to know each other – I’m pretty good at casting.
What I’m doing with my life
Working. Living. Dreaming. Trying to build a time machine. DeLorean is coming out with an electric version which may make things easier. I could always build a British Police Call Box... or work with Bill & Ted on a US Phone Booth.
I’m really good at
This. That. Some other things. Producing results. Could be video. Could be digital. Could be fantasy.
The first things people usually notice about me
The mustache. The hat. Hazel eyes that see the truth.

Books: Jonathan Livingston Seagull, The Four Agreements, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Movies: Star Wars, The Matrix, 10 Things I Hate About You, Run Lola Run; Shows: Anything on AMC; Music: Anything 80's, particularly REM, The Police; Food: Anything Asian.
The six things I could never do without
1) Air.
2) Bacon.
3) Chocolate.
4) Cheese. (I once broke up with someone who didn't like cheese. Who doesn't like cheese?)
5) Intellectual stimulation.
6) Let's be honest, sexual stimulation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and everything. Bacon. How to survive the zombie apocalypse.
