So I sit and type...
Jul 6, 2008
Tippy tappy typing away my boredom till I realize I have no
fingers.... --
Last night as I sat bored at my computer waiting for some music to finish downloading and free me from my boredom I tried to talk to a few of my friends online only to be brought to the awareness that they have lives too and at the moment were stuck doing something else whether they liked it or not. So while my "bored quotient" sky-rocketed like the price of iron ore in China, I was forced to realize it's odd that when you're bored you almost expect people to give a damn and cater to you as illogically selfish as it is to think that way.
People all tend to do this when stuck to the new-age idiot-box (the computer). When chained to the computer you, I assume, like most other people, are binging on comedy, news, music, TV, youtube, email, etc. We feed and feed and finally when our brains are tired of the same old shit, the boredom sets in. And I know that nobody can deny being irked that their friends online are all away or doing something better than entertaining you in your time of need, absolute boredom.
We’re all selfish creatures no matter how hard we may [or may not] strive away from selfishness. While I’d categorize myself as being above average in selflessness and below average in selfishness, I have been made the victim of my own selfishness on too many occasions recently. What a disturbing trend.
