My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
PC or NPC, that is the question.

Aspirant genius bruiser and reluctant social justice-y type seeks similar.

Consequentialist, Rationalist, and Godless Liberal. If your ethical code includes the phrase "shut up and multiply," and you strive to be kind and lessen the suffering of others, we will get along wonderfully.

Food and Booze Nerd.(Former food writer, even)

My happy place is the intersection of sports and statistics.

I'm completely ridiculous but struggle to make that come across in writing.

I don't think I could identify as "Poly" with a straight face, but ethical non-monogamy is a pretty good description of where I am at the moment. I am in an open relationship with a wonderdul lady in Portland, but we are both open to pursuing serious (or less serious) relationships in our respective cities. I will happily over-communicate about this in person or messages, and to clarify, I am thoroughly uninterested in one night stands.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on the Genius (Trying to get my MBA, self-teaching game theory, and getting a friend to teach me theory of computation) and the Bruiser (Trying to get into progressively better shape).

I wear about 17 different hats at work, and if you ask me about them I'll gladly talk your ear off.

Loving living downtown after several years in Redmond.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A friend of mine refers to me as Vikipedia. I have a staggering wealth of information(of questionable utility) stored in my brain. I like to call myself the quintessential academic dilettante . The jack, or more accurately nerd-of-all-trades.

I'm an excellent teacher, board game player and karaoke rapper. I specialize in snarky idealism, and I have an unsettlingly good memory.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I asked a couple of friends and got this response:

"Wow, he's really smart!"

"...and loud..."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I keep seeing "does anyone actually read this" written here. I do; I will assume that you do as well! (Ooh look, a properly used semicolon: such fancy, many grammar, wow.)

HenryIV (both parts), HPMOR, Anything by Steven Pinker, Gould or Terry Pratchett, The Dresden Files, The Tale of the Genji (Yes, I actually read it, but it's pretty much just here to get me serious lit nerd cred with the two of you who recognized this)... You know what, let's just say that I read 50+ books a year on average. Fantasy and Nonfiction are my preferred Genres.

Star Wars, Top Gun, Lawrence of Arabia, Pretty much the entire Marvel catalog, The Godfather, Casablanca

Sports, Whatever Anthony Bourdain is up to right now, Trashy Biker Shows, House of Cards, and, umm... Pro Wrestling
Also: SG-1 and Firefly, but they're no longer running

Garth, Coheed, Kweli, Lily Afshar, Gambino, Zepplin, Def Leppard, Minaj, Technique.

Country, rap, and metalish, basically the orphans of people who "like everything but..."

No Bro Country; fuck bro country. Beer, beer, trucks, girl, beer, girl, trucks, Jesus. (NOPE)

Grantland, Less Wrong, Fivethirtyeight, XKCD, SMBC, TvTropes, Various Webcomics that I just read because of the Sunk Cost Fallacy, Imgur(come for the cats, stay for the racism and sexism)

Pho, Sushi, BBQ, Teriyaki, Steak and as one of my friends said, "Weird stuff"
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, Coffee, My loved ones, Bourbon, Things to geek out about and My Cellphone/Headphones.

If you prefer the literal, Adequate Nutrition, Air, Clothing, Water, Shelter, Medicine

Or if you prefer the absurdly literal, The Four forces, Negentropy and Available Energy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

No seriously, it's pretty inconvenient.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sleeping because I have to teach class on Saturday Morning, Out at a bar with friends, Karaoke Rapping, or Playing Board Games
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I use way too many emojis.

You want to. I would love to hear from anyone who's made it this far!

You are the kind of person who actively challenges social injustice.

If I've still got to sell you on this, I dun goofed or we probably won't get along too well.

I grew up in Texas, I have a drawl if you ply me with sufficient booze.
