My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Y'all,

I'm such a nerd. When I would get home after high school, I would turn on NPR and listen for two hours. That was how I chilled out. I've only gotten progressively geekier. You should know that at the outset.

I've been in Portland for a little over a year, and in the last few months I feel like I've hit my stride. My employment, living, and other life-arenas are coming together in a way that surprises and delights me.

My Meyers-Briggs personality type is INTJ. This is extremely accurate, although I do now know how to translate for feelers. This test says that I would be a good dictator, and who am I to disagree? I have a platform ready.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a couple months into a new job as a data analyst at a tech start up in downtown. I love it. I couldn't be more jazzed about the work that I'm doing, or the company that employs me. I get to solve interesting problems that (I think) will actually help people. It's been a long time coming, and I'm beyond thrilled to be doing the work I am. I feel incredibly lucky.

Also, maybe I'm finishing my master's thesis?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I really enjoy reading. The most important thing I learned from my dad is probably to always bring a back-up book. The most important thing I learned from my mom is that if two people are exactly alike, one of them is probably unnecessary.

I like dancing. I have had a lot of fun being a drag king, and will continue to have that fun.

My friend calls me the Jillian Michaels of therapy. I'm pretty sure that's her clever way of calling me a bitch, but I like cleverness, so I'm good with it.

I also have the charming habit of trying to figure out people's motivations very quickly. I'm a curious person, and I like knowing what makes people tick.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The first thing people notice about me is probably that my hair is short and my sense of humor is dark.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
"Jude the Obscure", "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "Lolita", The Thursday Next series, "Anna Karenina", All the Harry Potter books with no irony, "The Art of Living", "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH", any collection of Billy Collins' poems, "Sharp Teeth", "Butch is a Noun", "The Hidden Life of Wolves", the Jane Austen canon (for reasons), "Jane Eyre",

TV:
Orphan Black, Firefly, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Portlandia, 30 Rock, Bones, Castle, Star Trek TNG, OitNB

Movies:
I hate movies as a medium. Trust me, if you want to watch a movie with me you will almost always be happier watching it alone. There are some movies I enjoy, but god watching movies makes me antsy.
"Brave", "Brokeback Mountain", "Pulp Fiction", "Kill Bill" (both) and that's it, I think.

Seriously, I've watched maybe three movies in two years?

Music:
Arkona, Fleetwood Mac, First Aid Kit, Chris Pureka, Regina Spektor, Adele, The Postal Service, Dehli 2 Dublin, Jessie J, Alisson Weiss, Mal Blum, Kacey Musgraves, Melissa Etheridge, Eurhythmics, Pink, Poe, Scissor Sisters, Tristan Prettyman, all the musical theater.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. A puzzle to solve
2. Something to look forward to
3. A task to complete
4. Bright stars at night
5. Cleverness
6. People to share the above with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I run iterations of different scenarios and potential outcomes a lot. I like to think about different ways to build house or use space, and I also think about how to solve problems at work a lot.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately, my Friday night plans involve going out a lot more. This is fun, but I love sleep so I like to get in at a reasonable hour. And hey, I just bought a new couch. Going out may be more of a decision than when I had no where to sit at home.

I like spending time with friends and meeting new people, and that's what most of my recent Friday nights have been. Also, lots of dancing.
