My self-summary
If this is going to work, you'll have to be okay with me loving your dog more than I love you.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to make movies, writing stuff, playing music. And probably lots of other activities in between those, but movies is the big one.
I’m really good at
Avoiding questions like these.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height!
And also I like to laugh. A lot. Sometimes really hard at things that don't deserve all that much laughter.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Movies (watching, thinking about, writing) are basically what I do with my life. If I listed everything here you'd be reading a book, so I'll try to keep it to essay-length.

First off: Taxi Driver is my favorite movie ever. What Catcher in the Rye did for angsty teenagers in high school, Taxi Driver did for me.

On that note, I love Scorsese. Also Tarantino, Fincher, Kevin Smith, PTA, Wes Anderson, Nolan, Rian Johnson, the Coens, Kubrick, Edgar Wright, Bennett Miller, Spielberg, Denis Villeneuve and oh god there's so many more

Some other random favorites are Star Wars (loved Force Awakens), pretty much any Pixar movie (Inside Out ruined me), The Place Beyond the Pines, 500 Days of Summer, The Godfather I and II, In Bruges, FRANK (oh god I love this movie), Whiplash, Mad Max (seriously, how good was Fury Road?), Blue Velvet, Monster, Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaption, Steve Jobs, This is Spinal Tap, School of Rock, Back to the Future (love all 3), Zoolander, Brokeback Mountain, The 40-Year Old Virgin, The Friends of Eddie Coyle, Trainspotting, Drive, Halloween, Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon and also I'm a sucker for a good comic book movie.

Also I was once asked what movie I would want to watch just before I died, and my answer was The Big Lebowski. I don't know if that's relevant.

TV Shows: BREAKING BAD (I'm obsessed with this show and one of the most exciting things I've ever done is interview two of the show's writers).

Also 30 Rock, Always Sunny, Better Call Saul, South Park, Louie, Frasier, W/ Bob and David, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Friends, Parks and Recreations, Malcom in the Middle, Arrested Development. Did I mention Breaking Bad?

Music: Pink Floyd is number one. Always. I also love The Beatles, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem (duuuude, they're back!!), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Gorillaz, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Bob Dylan, Porcupine Tree (and Steven Wilson in general), Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, System of a Down and others.

Books: I don't read nearly as much as I'd like to (the usual story), but some of my favorites are: In Cold Blood, The Shining, Harry Potter, The Outsiders, The Road, The Spy Who Came in From the Cold as well as lots and lots of comic books.

Podcasts: HUGE fan of SModcast and all things Kevin Smith. Between Hollywood Babble-On, SModcast, Edumacation, Fat Man on Batman, Talk Salad and Scrambled Eggs, I pretty much listen to a Kevin Smith podcast at least once a day.

I also love WTF with Marc Maron, The Nerdist, The Empire Podcast, Scriptnotes, FEaB and am always looking for new ones to get addicted to.

ALSO! I love, love, loooove stand-up comedy and want desperately to discover as much of it as possible. George Carlin changed my fucking life, man.
The six things I could never do without
1. Movies
2. Music
3. Friends
4. The Brattle theater
5. Spicy food
6. My ability to finish lists
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The random stuff I see throughout the day.
Stories and movies and stories and movies.
What chords are in the songs I'm listening to.
That I should really watch Twin Peaks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with a few of my best friends, probably watching a movie, jamming or walking around the city and talking about dumb irrelevant shit or very heavy life changing shit. Usually at the same time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a deep and passionate obsession with the G chord.
And also Batman.

Also I saw The Place Beyond the Pines an embarrassing amount of times in theaters.

Also I swear a lot and use the word "also" as a transition between unrelated topics constantly.
You should message me if
You like the stuff I like and/or the cut of my jib.
You enjoy sitting back and watching a good movie. Or a horrible movie that we can laugh at.
You want to bring me a buffalo chicken calzone.
