My self-summary
I spent most of my 20s immersed in the healing arts, transforming and growing through yoga, tantra, and making music. I'm a tender-hearted thinker; an introverted people-person. I love NYC but I'm also a bit of a wildflower and love getting dirty and exploring nature. Equal parts goofy and intense. I place a high value on tolerance, human kindness, and truth-telling. I live for my deep friendships and love being challenged by people I trust.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently immersed in a master's program in the creative arts therapies at NYU. Interning on a forensics unit. I'm making performance art again, who would'a thought?! And writing music. And teaching yoga.
I’m really good at
asking uncanny questions, seeing past people's defense mechanisms, and turning nothings into somethings, which is a contradiction to begin with. :)
The first things people usually notice about me
Big eyes, curly hair, and 5'2 with a whole lotta expression.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Laura Nyro, Dirty Projectors, Kate Bush, My Brightest Diamond, Black Sea Hotel, Tori Amos, Zap Mama, Sia, Antony and the Johnsons, Joan as Police Woman, Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley, Rokia Traore, Robert Wyatt, Suphala, Jesca Hoop, Rufus Wainwright, Lisa Germano, Lhasa De Sela, Paula Cole, Shuggie Otis, Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Leonard Cohen, David Byrne, Alice Coltrane, Meklit Hadero, Moondog, Beatles, Bobby McFerrin, Feist, Kronos Quartet, Bjork, St Vincent, Stevie Wonder, School for Seven Bells, Mia Doi Todd, Old American Folk, Aaron Copeland, Wildbirds + Peacedrums, Hindi Zahra, Juana Molina, Cinematic Orchestra, Anything tabla, romani, eastern european, and finally educating myself with more classical music. I could go on and on. :)

Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze, George Cukor, Terrence Malick, Alma Ha'rel, Agnes Varda, Lars Von Trier, Fellini, Robert Mulligan, Spike Lee, Gus Van Sant, Alejandro Innaritu, Frank Capra, Jane Campion, Howard Hawks, Classic Hollywood Musicals, and anything emotionally intense and wildly witty.

Currently reading so much psychology and psychotherapy theory, I'm up to the gills. I'm glad to be catching up with western literature as I spent a long time swimming in eastern philosophy + thought. Some thinkers/tinkerers I am influenced by: BKS Iyengar, Osho, Fromm, Jung, Alice Miller, David Frawley, Desikachar, Brecht, Chekhov, Gandhi, JL Moreno, Sontag, Didion, Benjamin, Yalom, Hazrat Inayat Khan, Boal, Krishnamurti, Yogi Bhajan, Gibran

Love cooking old school vegan at home & am more adventurous when I'm out of the house.

I love NYC. Adore my East Village block, and feel subsumed in this city like so many others who have messed their feet up endlessly walking on concrete, who have cried poetry and music late at night, felt divine lonliness and longing, and absolute comfort and love in living here.
The six things I could never do without
yoga/spiritual practice.
my friends.
creative process/collaboration
coffee.
NY, NY.
singing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to keep growing and expanding. Melody, rhythm and narrative. Languages of the body. Geeky yoga things. How people express themselves differently. Projects I would like to make: Therapeutic theater, voice operas, therapeutic film (is there such genre?). I think a lot about the creative process. I think about people I love, and how i can love them better. I think a lot about freedom, and how to be on a steady course that will allow me to have more choices in my life. Metaphysics, neuroscience, food, sleep, when i will get a dog...you know...
On a typical Friday night I am
Definitely not at the bar. These days, it's not unlikely that I'm home + working on a paper. If I had my way, I'd be wandering + singing in the streets or seeing music or theatre or a film. Or creating something. Or curled up in an old bookstore. I love being alone + even more enjoy the company of friends and/or lovers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Save it for a face-to-face conversation.
