My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm in my early thirties now and I've been a student my entire life. I'm ok at it. I got a master's degree in continental philosophy and moved to NYC 8 years ago to get a PhD, but dropped out and decided to become a scientist instead. Now I've almost got my PhD in biochemistry and and I work in a lab at city college that designs synthetic proteins.

Also I'm much less normal and successful than that paragraph makes me sound (in case you got either of those impressions from that paragraph). So a couple disclaimers:

1) I'm in a terminal relationship with my own emptiness but occasionally I cheat on myself with others. I'm not interested in any body that performs itself in terms of traditional categories, but I am interested in bodies, both free and under the influence of external forces (that's a physics joke but the point is just don't be too straight plz).

2) I'm kind of obsessed with my research. If you don't wanna hear about how electrons move around in living things, you probably won't enjoy my company.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Getting a PhD at the CUNY GC and trying to understand how "matter in the living state" got so weird and differentiated. Also making proteins into transistors and diodes. Basically waging war on the false distinction between natural and synthetic.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Statistical thermodynamics, the bankhead bounce, kemo walk, and dougie.

I like sprawling, high modern, "death of europe" novels from between the wars like the man without qualities and the sleepwalkers. Faulkner and Melville are my favorite American authors. I don't like anything pedantic or with a narrative agenda unless its about quantum mechanics. Also I should mention Kundera and Battaile if I'm gonna keep it real w yall.

If anyone has read or is familiar with the work of Ilya Prigogine or knows anything about non-equilibrium thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, plz contact me we can really geek out!

For movies I enjoy things with lots of working class empathy and ceremonial orgies. Pasolini, Fellini, Derek Jarman. Also I might pass on the Truffaut but I'll watch all that still-as-death Russian shit specially if u got pilllzzzzz.

I like modern dance and opera, and also shit that's clearly intended for 13 year old boys; wizards still dazzle me enough that I'll take the hike up that traditional plot arc even though I'm old enough to know better.

I grew up in Atlanta. I prefer it ignant and colossal, like lately that's migos and sicko mobb but mannie Fresh and lil Jon will always be what got me through. I can be weird too though so I'll listen to Can and Eno with u specially if u got...

U wanna get deep...scientists, philosophers, stoners, libertines, queers, errbody except squares basically.

Also, I don't *require* that you have radical politics but if you have a limited imagination with regard to the social possibilities of human beings then you probably haven't thought through the fact that we're animals to a sufficient level of awareness such that we're gon make sparxx anyway.
