My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm energetic, healthy, and curious, with a variety of interests. Among them is building stuff (largely exercised through a home renovation) which I enjoy but has high opportunity costs (Saturday nights in Home Depot are not conducive to meeting people!) so I'm thankful that'll soon be done. On the activity side I enjoy museums, interesting talks and lectures, running and biking in new places, trail-runs in Rock Creek Park, open water swims, soccer, tennis....and if those aren't your speed long walks will do just fine. I like independent and foreign language films, trying new places for dinner, and neighborhood walks filled with people watching and perhaps a little critiquing of architecture and urban planning. Career-wise I've been at a non-profit for 20 years heading a department that tries to make sure one of the TV channels you get is accurate and journalistically responsible.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to fine-tune the way I spend my time, spending more time doing the activities that make me smile, such as focused time with friends, reading, quiet time, and volunteering.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a pretty good problem solver, creative thinker, and, after a long, hard run on Saturday morning's, an excellent napper.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As I understand it being fit and lean and fairly high-energy, with a tendency to talk quickly and smile broadly when excited.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'll go see just about any movie that's thought-provoking (Amour, Philomena..) and sometimes get sucked into repeats of humorous movies on TV (Taladega Nights, Wedding Crashers...). I don't have any appointment TV viewing but try to catch highlights of The Colbert Report and Daily Show online. I enjoy the New Yorker and somewhat habitually read online news (Daily Beast, Huffington Post...) Food-wise I'm all over the place. I'm not a picky eater other than if it's not going to be healthy for me it should at least be healthy(ish) for the environment as in organic, free-range, etc. I like all variety of ethic foods, particularly Indonesian, Indian, Vietnamese, and Mexican (particularly Mole Enchiladas) Every year I'll get season tickets to a local theater, and am always up for anything cultural...a talk, film, show, you name it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Just a few things I'd rather not do without...

Daily exercise, of some kind
Engaging conversation
Interesting reading
Being challenged.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
A few of the things that have occupied my thoughts lately

- Meeting someone smart, active, and generally positive
- Getting to bed earlier (since I wake up early regardless!)
- Sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse... work.
- Somtimes enjoyed, sometimes not...politics
- How to improve things..people's quality of life, mechanical things, our urban environment, and pretty much anything else.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
