I am insatiable, dynamic, and inquisitive.

My Self-Summary

Traveling, new experiences and good times are something to be sought as often as possible, almost anything that grows me is worth trying at least once. Currently I am pursuing a master's degree to teach Middle School students, but while I love Educational and Language Arts theories, I like doing a host of other activities. I have a lot of fun dancing at clubs; I go to see live music at the Doug Fir, The Space and other local venues or operas, plays and I definitely enjoy simply drinking and talking or barbecuing and love snowboarding. Just talk to me, I won't bore everyone by putting it all here, but I am pretty open about everything. I tend to be most passionate about books, meaning, cultures and people. I tend to do better with people who can wing a conversation out of the blue as I like bouncing ideas or topics around that I may or may not have any idea about =).I like talking about everything from politics or philosophy to irreverence and games.

What I think is more important in respect to artistic mediums is that I like poetry and literature that question and invoke identity or roles and I deeply love works that question human constructions.

I’m really good at

fascinating digression.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Some literature that I enjoy: Neil Gaiman, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Barbara Kingsolver, Dan Simmons, Bill Waterson, Frank Herbert, Stephen King, Rowling, Anne Rice, Orson Scott Card, Alan Moore (selectively), Dante, Milton, Don DeLillo. I've read a *lot* so its hard to list them all. I favor Romantic, Modern and especially Post-Modern literature, but I'm all over the board.

Poets: Blake, Keats, Dickinson, Eliot, Ferlinghetti, WCW, e.e. cummings. Again, I favorite similar poetic movements as I do literature ones, but I am not terribly hoity toity about any of them unless I need to be.

Some music that I'm into: Postal Service, The Cat Empire, NOFX, Kimya Dawson, Auctechre, Boys Noise, Crystal Castles, Gogol Bordello, koRn, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy, Michael Buble, Fleet Foxes, Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Blitzentrapper, Green Day, The Grouch, MIA, Esau Mwamwaya, and K'naan. Music is a fairly personal thing though and I don't judge too much. I tend to like music with clever lyrics and will be more likely to relate to a song lyrically than just musically.

There is almost nothing I will not eat or attempt to cook. I like trying new things and new restaurants, both dives and fancy.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either chilling at home or friends' doing potlucks, movies or games; out drinking with friends or at a dance or music venue. Lately its been mostly low key with work + school, but things tend to ebb and grow.
