My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’m a number-crunching nerd by day and a volleyball/softball-playing, TV-watching, gym-going, fun-loving, STL explorer by night. It’s rare that I have a full day with nothing going on, and I’m totally fine with that.

I’ve lived in St. Louis most of my life, but I’m always learning about restaurants, places, and events that I haven’t experienced yet. I’m up for just about any adventure, whether it’s a concert, street festival, physical activity, sporting event, or just a bar I’ve never been to before.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’ve been at the same job since I graduated from grad school in 2002. For the most part I enjoy my job and don’t mind when the alarm goes off in the morning. Of course, Fridays are always better than Mondays.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
getting the sticky part to line up just right when putting on a paper wristband.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, if we’re engaged in conversation and you’re funny, you’ll notice my laugh. But I’m guessing we’re talking physical characteristics here, so I’ll go with my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - Gone Girl, 11/22/63, Replay

Movies - Too many to list... I've been working my way through all of the films nominated for best picture at the Oscars since I was born. I've seen almost all of them from the present back to 1982 or so. I like drama, comedy, and thrillers. Action and sci-fi aren't really my thing.

TV Shows - Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Mad Men, Homeland, Downton Abbey, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, The Killing, Louie

Music - I listen to alt nation on Sirius XM.

Food - popcorn, shrimp - although popcorn shrimp isn't a favorite :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my phone
my family/friends
physical activity
sports teams to follow
white noise when I'm sleeping
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my next vacation and when/where I'm going to meet Mr. Right.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
eating pizza at my parents' house then going out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As more and more friends are getting married and starting families, I'm getting a little concerned that I'm never going to find a guy to spend my life with :/

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I’m hoping to meet someone who is open to spending some time enjoying one another's company and seeing where things lead. I'm NOT looking for a pen pal or someone who wants to spend forever sending messages before meeting in person. I think online dating is a great way to interact with people you wouldn't have met otherwise, but meeting in person is really the only way to know if there's a chance at compatibility. So I'm all for meeting somewhat early on. It's just dinner or a beer, nothing too scary!

As I go on more and more dates, I'm discovering that the following things are pretty important to me in a match:
1) a similar work schedule to mine (9-5ish M-F, weekends off, not a ton of traveling)
2) interest in sports
3) a healthy lifestyle (working out, not eating like a pig)

If you don't have all of these things, it's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but you'd better be darn close to perfect otherwise ;)
