My self-summary
I enjoy hunting, fishing, music composition, relaxing, cooking, working out, and a great many other things.

I am a vocalist at heart, and I absolutely love singing and writing songs.

Just to be clear, while I'd like to be in a relationship, I don't need one, and I have no interest in someone who needs one. A good friend of mine once told me "My wife and I get along great. And that's because when we met, I didn't need her and she didn't need me. And nothing's changed since that day." I believe this is the basis for a successful relationship.

EDIT: I have recently decided that relationships are a whole lot of fake bullshit. I'd really like to be talked out of this belief, but someone needs to step up to the plate and help me

I am laid back, tall, and ingenious
What I’m doing with my life
Working and studying singing for the most part. I also make it a priority to exercise on a regular basis, mostly running and other cardio activities. I ran the Helvetia Half Marathon in June, and it was awesome. My friends tell me I should do a full marathon next. I'm still debating that one...

I currently work at Intel in a debug lab on a compressed graveyard work week, which means I work 12 hour days Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday, from 8pm until 8am. This means that days I work I have no life, but I have a massive amount of days off every week.
I’m really good at
Listening, interacting with children, driving a car, cooking delicious food, and some other things too. I like to think I'm good at singing, but I know better than to get too cocky about that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm the tall guy with glasses. I guess people usually say something about my gauges too, even though they're not that big.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All Chuck Palahniuk books but especially Survivor (which he signed for me!!), The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter (yes I know I'm a nerd), One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest by Ken Kesey, cheesy old detective novels (think Perry Mason, Ellery Queen, etc.), Stephen King, Candide by Voltaire, Macbeth, Marilyn Mansons autobiography, Diary Of A Viagra Fiend, among many more.

Brick, Blow, So I Married An Axe Murderer, Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle, Paranoia 1.0 (2.0?), Terminator, all James Bond films (even the Lazenby one), Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, Garden State, Sin City, The Last Kiss, Lord Of War, Tron: Legacy, just to name a few.

Guster, Panic! At The Disco, Andrew Bird, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Dido, Snoop Dogg, Duran Duran, Crash Test Dummies, Violent Femmes, Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, Fountains Of Wayne, Placebo, Red Delicious, Marcy Playground, Shirley Bassey, She Wants Revenge, The Donnas, The Moody Blues, Rainbow, The Blues Brothers, Reverend Horton Heat, Oasis, Knife Party, The Offspring, Little Boots, Dragonette, The Soho Dolls, SO MANY MORE!

I like pretty much all kinds of food. My favorite at the moment is probably Thai food, I'm almost always down for some Thai. Also pizza. Even though it's horrible for me.
The six things I could never do without

Internet (I could do without it. But I love it.)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
"How many calories are in this?"
"Can I actually run that extra half mile today?"
"What is this song?!"

Also things like what I'm working on in my voice lessons, who I need to get ahold of that day, if I'm going to the gym or not and how far I should run, what I'm going to make for dinner, if I should actually clean my room or not, etc, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Pimping myself out to Intel
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love Dido. Her music is awesome. That is my shameful secret.

Also, I worry people think I'm stalking them when I visit their profile multiple times. Really, I just don't remember I checked them out until I start reading their self-summary.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 18–99
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends
You should message me if
If you eat meat. Seriously, is everyone in Portland vegetarian or vegan?

You are independent and interesting, and can deal with my nutso work schedule.

If you like staying active, be it through running, biking, yoga, hiking, etc. I like finding people who enjoy the active lifestyle.

Or, you know, if you find me interesting. You need not meet all prerequisites.
