I try to practice "
far side"esque thinking as a
lifestyle.
I am a fairly easy going person with big aspirations.
Sometimes that conflicts.
I enjoy so many things it is often difficult to prioritize.
I try to be a positive person as much as possible.
Many have described me as having the ability to readily fit in
anywhere and with anyone socially in just about any strata like
some sort of social chameleon, although, I actually consider myself
to be kind of shy initially.
I have opinions but usually try to keep them to myself at least
until evidence exists to support them.
If evidence doesn't appear I might be forced to plant some.
I also suffer from paranoia about bad grammar in my online
writings. Nothing worse that trying to make a first impression and
not being able speel anyting korectly.
As for the "religious" thing.
I think that it possible there is something more but I find it hard
to believe you'll find it by belonging to one group versus
another.
Basically be nice, help out when you can, listen, and it all should
work out ok.
I do alot of reading too. Hard Sci-Fi, Thrillers, and History
mainly.
Did about 13+ years in the military. Was a Medic in the Army then
joined the Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman which allowed me to
werk with the USMC for about 6+ years. I got to do alot of great
things and work with alot of really special and dedicated folks. I
was fortunate enough to see things that I never would have
otherwise and came to have a perspective which allows me to
appreciate things which I never would have garnered had I not
joined.
I got to do cool stuff from parachuting(I love to fly and if it
means I have to hang on, strap to it, or walk out of it, I will
just for the ride.) and scuba diving to advanced medical training
like ACLS, ATLS, CTM, and tons of other acronyms.
I am single, never married, with no children. I am not afraid of
kids except for that one in the Omen.
I like to tinker with stuff. I need to know how things work.
My taste in movies and muzak is typically not mainstream.
Except for 80's muzak.
Those last two were put in so I can sound edgy and
pretentious.
As for what I'm looking for here on (insert online social thing
here).com, I'm not sure.
I definitely like to talk so that's a starting point.
I think the generic socially acceptable traits are another good
place to start.
Be who you say you are.
Don't misrepresent.
I don't expect perfection as I am not perfect.
Of course that goes with the socially acceptable stuff. (You know
honesty, integrity....yada, yada, yada...)
I think that travel and meeting different people is one of the only
things worth doing in this life.
In my ventures around the planet the one thing I have learned is
that despite what the TV/Media tells you people are much more alike
than different and basically good.
Please do not get mad if I ask questions. Because, honestly, most
people do not put anything in their profiles.
So unless you have that masters level mind reading program
accomplished you have no idea what they are looking for and then
you have to wrangle info using weak internet small talk.
Editors
Evolving, I think, hopefully not in the wrong direction.
WOOT!!! Those fools accepted me into their program so four more
semesters and that will be done.
Got accepted to an RN program so I start that in the fall.
Current follow up plan to that is Nurse Anesthesia soon as I have
the time and quals in for it.
Then what?
I definitely see myself as the life long going to school
type.
Maybe back to my other college to finish my art degree, poli sci,
etc...
Want to take more maths.
Learning 3D Studio Max in the shallow hopes of completing my sci fi
epic.
Do werk as a lab assistant to pay the bills.
Hoping to meet people who are similarly quirky but still ethical. I
live in BFE so the bottom line is I realize most likely I will have
to undertake an epic voyage to actually meet people.
It is kinda forced when all your friends are married in the area.
So in this area at my age you either need to date them right out HS
(not an option or a desire) or catch them before the Senior Center
gets 'em and although intriguing being a step-grandparent just
seems awkward at best.
My Art. Sutures. Blind sticks. Crisis management. Multitasking.
Operating under pressure. Making people snort and snot, either from
laughing or derision, whatever.
Sense of humor. I seriously think I can take the most miserable job
and get the people I'm with to have if not a good time doing it at
least not dwell on the misery.
I'll have to werk on this.
(A) Aviation and Space technical books(Weird huh?). Hard Sci-Fi.
History. Bios.
I have been nagged about this list but it is a tedious one to fill
in as I really can't remember all I've read. It's not uncommon for
me to pick up a book start reading and then realize I read it like
10 years prior. Just finished the Potter series and really enjoyed
it. First book took 5 me months on and off, last six took circa 3
weeks. Go figure!? :-D I was even ok with the ending.
(B) Blade Runner, Like Wes Anderson films, Monty python stuff,
Hmmmm....
(C) Music for me is funny. I really like lyrics. Especially good
ones. :-) If I had to list by genres: Industrial, Goth(is that a
genre?), Techno, Rock, Metal( Some old Anthrax or maybe Judas), Hip
Hop, Rap(Old stuff mostly e.g. NWA :-D ) Jazz, Blues, Old
R&B(60's), Classical, Pretty much everything with a very very
thin spectrum of acceptable country. Think
Johnny Cash. An all time fave of
mine is
Social Distortion.
And David Bowie is the fucking man. "Sorrow" another really pimp
song.
(D) Thai, Italian, Japanese, aww hell I just like food. Those are
some faves though.
I try to stick to the lifestyle of being a 2nd tier vegetarian but
it is hard at times and I do make mistakes.
Computer, Pet(s), Drawing tablet and pencils(That's one, don't
argue), Outdoors, Hmmmm....
Life, Goals, Travel, I want to fly in space, the nerve of them not
to fund the
Orion Project.
working in the lab.
Bleh.
If you want to chat, go from there.
Please feel free to contact me if you are from the Mothership and
you have come to take me home.
I'd love to get out of this place.
