I am sarcastic, quirky, and easygoing.
My Self-Summary
Hi, I'm John. I'm currently a student at the University of Central
Florida, studying technical communication. I spend my spare time
hanging out, listening to crappy music, playing some games, and
waiting for opportunity to strike with regard to dating. Romantic,
I know.
More about me... well, I'm pretty quiet until you get to know me,
but once I feel comfortable I can unleash a stream of
consciousness. I'm thoughtful, but not indecisive. I'm not too
worried about my future - whatever happens, I'm confident that I'll
be able to deal with it somehow or other.
What I’m doing with my life
Attending college, primarily. I don't have foresight enough to
claim to know what I'll be doing a couple years from now,
especially given how much trouble new grads are having finding
jobs.
I’m really good at
I'd like to think I'm a good writer, but you may disagree. ;)
Partially as a consequence of that, I'm pretty snarky and
sarcastic. Of course, sometimes I end up making bad jokes that only
I understand, but what can you do? No, not making them is not an
option.
I also dabble in video games and am a huge computer and science
geek. There's just so much cool stuff out there that I have no idea
where to begin describing it all. Of course, this doesn't mean I
play WoW 24/7. I have self-control, I promise. :P
The first things people usually notice about me
This is a rather hard one for me to answer, since I'm pretty quiet,
but I think it's how laid-back I am. I've gotten comments from
people marveling - ok, they weren't marveling, but bear with me
here - at how calm and composed I am. Some see this and think it's
apathy, but it's really just perspective and, uh, massive
procrastination.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I used to be not-very-picky in terms of books, but that's been
changing. I used to be into sci-fi and fantasy, but after reading
enough of those genres the common stereotypes and cliches got
completely ridiculous, and I can only stand a few of those now.
Partly as a result of reading too much of the aforementioned
genres, I'm only just starting to branch out, which will make this
list pretty generic. But whatever.
So yeah, there's The Great Gatsby, the Lord of the Rings trilogy,
Dune, A Clockwork Orange, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the
Killer Angels, Ender's Game, pretty much anything written by
Shakespeare, and this awesome little book called I, Houdini.
As for music, as far as I can tell, the rule I most follow is that
I like the songs with the best riffs. Silly, I know. Some good
artists are Malmsteen, Meguro, Namiki, Nightwish, and Sonata
Arctica. That's not anywhere close to an exhaustive list, of
course; just things I quickly noticed in my playlist. I don't much
like rap/hip hop, though, if that matters to you.
The six things I could never do without
Ain't no such things, unless you plan on being
facepalmingly-obvious and listing air, food, friends, and other
stuff like that.
I can't say I'd want to live in a world without a net connection or
a collection of good books, though!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stuff I'll never find the answers to, assuming there are answers to
begin with. You know, the meaning of life, everyday questions like
that.
Honestly, I could spend a bit more time doing stuff instead of
thinking about it. Of course, I spent a lot of time thinking before
I arrived at that conclusion...
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I'm out with friends, and sometimes I'm doing something
solitary, like reading a book or playing some games. It really
depends on the day and my mood at the time. I don't hit the clubs
or go to parties, though, because I hate being around too many
people at once. That does limit my options just a bit.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I can't whistle. At all. :(
You should message me if
You're tired of dating (total) assholes, you want someone with an
actual personality, and/or you think I'm hot. :P
Nah, seriously, decide for yourself. I don't mind assertive types,
though, if that means anything to you.
