I am a Wisconsin-born, Ohio-educated DCist working and living on Capitol Hill. I have spent 5 years in this great city and I still have a pretty long list of things I have to experience before I call myself a true Washingtonian! I truly love the outdoors and while the chilly weather of winter doesn’t bother me (see “Wisconsin-born”) I am itching to get back on the water and back out to the shore this spring and summer. I do love to escape the beltway when I can and wish I could travel more than I worked…

I love to be outdoors and enjoy playing/watching sports. Being a Buckeye, I'm obviously a huge college football fan but I also love baseball (Cubs fan) and I'm still trying to make my dream of playing beach volleyball for a living come true. I can usually be found down at the Lincoln Memorial sand courts in the summer and play indoors during the colder months in a league. I'd love to meet someone who is active/outdoorsy and enjoys new experiences!

I work on the Hill during the day and at night, I fight crime! Ok, not really. My nights are filled with more happy hours and rec sports than vigilante justice. I play in softball and volleyball leagues and I volunteer with some great people from around the area. My family and friends are spread out around the country, so when I get time away, I try to keep in touch as much as possible. I am also usually training for my next race-maybe a half marathon or a 10 miler!

I guess I would say my smile… but I haven’t really asked anyone lately!

What I’m currently reading: Thomas Jefferson – The Art of Power

What I’m currently watching: House of Cards (like every other person in this city) and I will admit to having Godfather Trilogy marathons on a random Tuesday.

What I’m currently listening to: I have a pretty diverse music collection and it is always changing depending on what shows are coming to the 9:30 Club and what new artist NPR is profiling! I will admit to listening to country in the summer...so if that is a deal breaker, better you know it now!

Besides the obvious (family and friends), I’m fairly certain I have gone without a few of these and survived… (barely) but here it goes:

My next vacation-which means copious amounts of time spent reading travel books and researching airline prices. I love to hear about other people's travels and adventures so I can keep adding to my list of "must see" countries/cities!

I also spend a lot of time thinking about my zombie survival team...

Recovering from a long week at work by having a few drinks with friends or resting up for an early Saturday morning run.
