My self-summary
To be blunt, I'm the new kid in town.

I'm from San Diego, California and have spent the last two years in NYC for work following uni. I got offered the opportunity to work down here and simultaneously hang out with my relatives, so I figured why not.

The ocean is my second home. I know that sounds a bit homo, but after the last two years its a really nice luxury to have at your disposal. I like to surf, fish, sail and of course the occasional booze cruise.

As for personality, lets just say I'm fluent in sarcasm. Chances are if you take life too seriously we won't get along.

I'm looking for new friends. People to hang out with, share a wave and a laugh with, and maybe show me a few cool places to eat or go out around the city. I would be incredibly appreciative.
What I’m doing with my life
Traveling from place to place having fun while trying to make the transition to adulthood. It's been a slow pace so far.

For work, I'm an assistant development manager at a real estate development firm that specializes in luxury mid-rise apartments. I'm not sure where it will take me, but I am happy for now and returning back to school for a masters is on the agenda
I’m really good at
- Mario Kart on Nintendo 64. BRING IT ON!!!
- Scrabble and placing two letter words in confined spaces
- Losing my keys
&
- Providing helpful movie reviews
The first things people usually notice about me
My incredibly blunt and straightforward manner. You will never be left in the dark about how i am feeling. It can serve as a double edged sword, but my policy is that honesty is the best policy. You will always know what is on my mind.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: pretty much everything aside from country; but to name a few as of late: Cut Copy, Calvin Harris, Marvin Gaye, Empire of the Sun, Bag Raiders, Fleetwood Mac, Ghostland Observatory, Pretty Lights, Passion Pit, Flying Lotus, Miike Snow, The Radio Department, Real Estate, The Doors, Elton John, David Bowie, Edward Sharpe, James Brown, Avicii, Deadmaus, Rolling Stones, Naked and Famous, Arcade Fire, Pinback, Los Campesinos, The National, The XX....a lot

Book: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. A hilarious and enlightening story about a midget and the things we are capable of accomplishing when we apply ourselves. Love all things Hemmingway, and who doesn't enjoy The Great Gatsby.

Movies: Anything from Pride and Prejudice to American History X and between. I think there is a bunch of criteria in terms of how to measure what makes a good movie, but my favorite is whether or not it illicits an emotional response from the viewer.

TV: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad

Food: pretty much everything. Although I must admit I am quite the carnivore.
The six things I could never do without
1. laughter
2. delicious food
3. my family
4. loyal and dependable friends
5. the ocean
6. seamless web (if you don't know what this is, then you need to)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Well, I suppose a lot of things. I think being a 20-something can be quite an awkward transitional phase in life, yet so much fun. A recent NY times article summed it up best, “To be young today is to experience both excitement and uncertainty, wide-open possibility and confusion, new freedoms and new fears."
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking a stiff dark 'n' stormy (Gosling's Black Seal rum and Barritts ginger beer; think of a more sophisitcated version of a rum and coke) with friends. Who knows, maybe if I am lucky I am able to convince my friends to go out and partake in some more libations, laughs, and most importantly some dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I watched The Notebook.......and I liked it
