My self-summary
I'm a 23 year-old guy working at a software company and enjoying the best the Madison has to offer. Here are some things about me that a potential partner might want to know:

-I like to think through problems and I need to give major decisions enough thought so that I can justify my actions to "future me" if it doesn't work out. Such decisions range from buying a new car to choosing a house at Hogwarts (Ravenclaw > Gryffindor).

-I can be impulsive, but in a fun way. I recently bought a harp despite having no idea how to read music, and I moved to Wisconsin for my job with about 10 days notice. I think that impulsive decisions can still be rational, so long as adequate care is taken to assess pros and cons.

-I love nature, food, art and aesthetic pleasures in general. I don't really know what makes for a happy, satisfied life, but I'm pretty certain it involves chocolate and waterfalls (I LOVE waterfalls. Can't really say why...)

My ideal dates include:
*The Old Sugar Distillery--a functioning rum distillery that serves cocktails.
*Spicy curry at Lao Laan Xang.
*Buying cheese for a picnic at Fromagination.
*Walking down East Washington street and hitting up some of the hipster bars along the way.
What I’m doing with my life
My primary goals in life (when I reflect on them intellectually) are to be as happy as possible, and to help make lots of other people happy too. More concretely, I'm working hard and trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

I'm obsessed with learning, and whatever I do in life, I plan to keep assimilating as much knowledge and wisdom as I can. I have a subscription to Scientific American and I listen to a philosophy podcast when I'm at the gym. I also know all the European capitols, which totally impressed a Lithuanian guy I met on a plane.
I’m really good at
Thinking long and hard about obscure problems, staying up until absurd hours to finish projects, debating, making lists, ignoring what's on my lists, making brownies (straight up--walnuts are an abomination), calculating tips (I have a system). I've never been strictly a science or humanities person and I'm good at letting my knowledge of one inform my views about the other.
The first things people usually notice about me
My beard--sometimes I draw shapes in it for fun. I also tend to have a goofy smile on my face.

I have, and have always had, an abnormally large amount of empathy. I was the kid that always looked down at the ground after scoring a goal, because I hated to see my opponents look sad.

TV:
Breaking Bad, Entourage, Weeds, Shameless, Californication, 30 Rock.

Food:
I love basically every type of ethnic food, and I am getting into cooking. To name a few favorites: steak, bacon (on anything), pho, banh mi, sushi, udon, any type of thai curry, falfel, hummus, anything involving arugula and blue cheese.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about a lot of things. A few topics that have been on my mind recently:

-Cultural relativism. To what degree can I judge others who may have a totally different upbringing?
-Is it important that I be happy while I'm sleeping? Does "awake me" have an obligation to "asleep me"?
-Whether I should I go back to school.

My religious views are classified as "Atheist and somewhat serious about it". This make sense insofar as I'm an Atheist and I've thought very hard about it. This does not mean that I've made up my mind for good or that I'm certain about anything. I'm interested in getting to know people from all ends of the religious spectrum and I would never hold someone's religious views against them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out on the town, or chilling with friends. Occasionally I'll get really entranced in a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I Youtube epic clips from 24 and The West Wing for inspiration. There's something about fictional presidents with huge amounts of gravitas that gets me going.
