Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a former author and current software architect. I loved
writing and I'd like to do it again someday. I love reading,
movies, music, learning, being outdoors, cross-country skiing,
snowshoeing, and above all, bicycling. I am a year-round cyclist,
so it's not uncommon to see me riding in the snow. I've been
everywhere from Niagara Falls to Rochester on my bike, and recently
designed the website for my bike club.
I try to be a pretty open minded person, and am willing to try
most things at least once.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I used to be a writer, but I gave up on that after three books
(it's all technical nonfiction about game programming), since
unfortunately writing books doesn't pay the bills. Now I work as a
software architect making solutions for Universities and Colleges
I'd love to begin traveling for fun. I've sometimes considered
"bike touring", where you spend a week biking across an entire
state (or farther!). I want to start with the "Biking The Erie
Canal" tour, maybe next year, which takes 7 days to bike from
Buffalo to Albany.
I live in the country because it facilitates my desire to be
adventurous. At the drop of a hat, I can hop outside my door and
find myself cycling to the top of a gorgeous hill. You don't get
that in the city. That being said, in the long run I will most
likely be buying a house closer to civilization. It'll be tough to
say goodbye to this wonderful land out here, but in terms of
practicality the eventual move makes the most sense.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pretty much anything I put my head into. There really isn't
anything in this world that I can't master if I don't really try
hard enough, except for maybe stuff like neurosurgery... but that's
another topic entirely.
Then again, Ben Carson's doing a wonderful job of making me
reconsider that stance...

I love music. All kinds of Rock, Blues, Soul, Industrial, Trip-Hop,
TV: Breaking Bad, Scrubs, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones,
Luther. Lots more.
Movies: Wes Anderson and Stanley Kubrick are my two favorite
directors. I like anything deep or whimsical. "The Princess Bride"
is my favorite movie of all-time.
Books: Too many to list.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
bicycle, glasses, music, friends, movies, oxygen.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
We really messed up when we decided to call them "Corn Mazes". It
would have been so much more clever to call them "Maise Mazes",
On an unrelated note, I also wonder why people never let me name
And why the hell do they call it Mobile Alabama? Every map I've
seen shows it to be in the same place since its founding.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going out with friends, biking, or going out with friends while
biking, or watching a good movie. Depends on the season.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I know all the lyrics to "Like a Prayer". And I will definitely
sing them if I'm drunk.

catch dinner, and so on. I'm up for most things.
I'm looking for someone who is intelligent, adventurous,
kind-hearted, and makes my pulse race. And has a kick-ass taste in
music as well!
