I moved to Philadelphia from Austin, Texas back in August. I might be settled, but I'm still a real Philly newbie.

I hold doors and hand write thank you notes.
I love my family. And they hear it often.
I hustle at work and play hard.
I am active, healthy. I love food!
I have an infectious laugh.
I am confident, not cocky. Funny, but not a clown.
I can sing (sometimes even outside my shower).

I love to travel!. Do it whenever I can.
I have been to Africa, Europe, S. America, & Asia. Still need to get to Australia!
I never say no to family, friends, a worthy adventure, or a good meal.
I am not a couch potato (see above).
I give back whenever I can.
I accept responsibility. I communicate well.

I was raised well (thank you Mom & Dad!).
I make the journey as fun as the destination.
I mind my footprint and volunteer.
I think of others and like to make them happy.
I have a good heart and I'm an excellent friend.
I happily visit family. I am a Godfather and an Uncle!

I am organized and analytical (92% of the time).
I am a loving dog owner and trusted dog sitter.
I can spell cummerbund and know how to tie a bow tie.
I am an insomniac, which explains why I accomplish so much late at night.
I cook my own pizza and bake my own bread.

I run 10Ks. Willingly. Sometimes in striped tights. Why not?
I am playful and sarcastic.
I have never been to Egypt or Peru, but they're high on my list.
I relax near mountains, lakes and the ocean.
I have worked hard to earn several degrees. It’s taken a lot of tenacity (and plenty of F bombs).
I do my own taxes.

I am from AZ, but have lived all over the US.
I wish I could play guitar... someday.
I do yoga and try to be zen (key word is TRY).
I listen (What?). I follow up. I remember names and faces.

I save for a rainy day and then decide when it rains.
I soak in the view and enjoy the ride.
I smile. Often.
I exude the glass is half full. Never empty.

Living it... and enjoying the ride as much as I can, damnit!

Moved to Philadelphia last August, and still feel like I know nothing about the place! I'm currently a Doctoral Psychology Intern (and no, I'm not psychoanalyzing you right now.)

Sensing what a person is thinking/feeling.

If it isn't my charming personality, then I guess it might be my smile. I'm told it's both disarming and room-brightening.

My musical tastes tend to be more mellow.... i like soulful acoustic music. You know... the kind where the melody and the lyrics actually matter. But I'll sing along to just about anything. Well, anything except heavy metal or rap. Recent faves: Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, Elliott Smith, The Shins, Adele, Muse, Mumford & Sons, the Avett Bros., and John Legend.

I like a movie that will keep me at the edge of my seat... or have me bawling like a baby. Yea, I cry... wanna make something of it?

I watch reality television. I know... it's one of the first signs of the apocalypse, but I can't help it. I'm a psychologist. People fascinate me.

6. Exercise... because of all the good food (yoga, swimming, running in particular)

Psychology. Sort of takes over when in a graduate program. Otherwise, I would probably be consumed by thoughts of good food or plotting ways to afford my next trip abroad. (Sensing a trend here? At least I'm consistent!)

I like to say I'm an open book. I am willing to share almost everything about my life when asked. But, that doesn't necessarily mean I will volunteer information without being politely asked. It's always good to keep a few secrets and maintain an air of mystery, right?

While I make fast friends, I haven't been too lucky in love. I've often been told I have high standards, but I don't think it's worth it to settle for someone you can't respect and enjoy. Besides, I'm perfectly happy remaining single and independent. What else does one say here? I want to meet someone who is my equal and complement... A man who is intelligent, motivated, sincere, funny, athletic, genuine, nice, stable, out, outgoing, caring, sensitive, masculine, tall, and drama-free. Oh, and to get all serious, you should have some awareness of systems of power and privilege and identity and all that important real people stuff. FYI, a great smile and excellent kiss will beat rock hard abs anyday... (but hard abs are always a nice bonus).
