Most recent books I've read (not for class): Benjamin Franklin: An
American Life, Kissinger on China, Jobs Bio
I’ll list a few artists, but my tastes are pretty diverse. I guess
the most important thing to take away from this section is that
music has played an important role in my life. I benchmark many
moments or periods in my life by the music I listened to at that
time. Something like a soundtrack. I can remember the first time I
listened to the Blueprint (Jay-z), and feeling as if there was no
turning back. I was hooked.
Culture is often an overlooked connecting point, bringing people
together from all walks of life. That is inspiring.
Jay-z, Kanye, BIG, Eminem (first three albums only), The Roots,
John Mayer, Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder (solo), Musiq, D’angelo,
Maxwell, Janet, Sinatra, Billy Joel, Outkast, Mos Def, The Doors,
Mumford and Sons, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Stevie Wonder, Donny
Hathaway, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Jimi Hendrix,
Jack Johnson, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Lupe, Method Man, Redman,
Nas, Pharoahe Monch, Sam Cooke… I’ll stop here.
