My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
This space was previously all about things that I did (Went to school for many different things, got a master's degree, worked jobs) but not really the things I am, so let's try something new!
What I am is a nerd. I'm a liberal, I'm a skeptic, I'm an ally, a feminist and sex positive. I'm a photographer, a painter, a writer, and a scientist. I'm still a musician that's out of practice. I'm outspoken about free speech. I'm improving myself and getting by. I'm looking for someone that thinks all the above is awesome. Maybe that's you!

You can now view the feed of all my nerdy glory from my Instagram. I'm starting think maybe Lawrence is too small a pool. We'll have to see.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am paying for this nice second degree by recruiting and managing participants for specific grants at KU. I get a lot of spare time with that, so I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time at the gym. I would like to someday open a game store.

I think this section... whatever. I'm very close to giving up on you, OkCupid. You are not the best at your job.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being very smart. Both actually knowing a lot and as in Smart Alec.
Making Chili.
Being awesome (at being a nerd).
People have told me I'm a half way decent writer and photographer. I'll keep practicing!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I believe that its likely that I'm a six foot six, blond haired, blue eyed, barrel chested man of clearly Viking descent. After that, probably that I'm pretty relaxed for a viking!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I most recently read Kraken: An Anatomy by China Miéville, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Before that I read Warren Ellis's Crooked Little Vein and David Wong's John Dies at the End. My favorites of all time are probably Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels and Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age or Young Woman's Illustrated Primer.

I really like Bladerunner and Alien (rest in peace Mr. Giger) two of Ridely Scott's (even though Prometheus sucked), not going to lie to you, really a fan of Labyrinth. We've instigated a movie night, we have generated a spreadsheet, and so far we've watched The Raid: Redemption and The Last Unicorn. Movie night is eclectic. I always liked Indiana Jones and I've been a Trekkie since I was very young. Also, Firefly.

Music, I can't even... I could go on for a while. Radiohead is by far my favourite band, hands down. I have a new love of Marina and the Diamonds, The Decemberists, alt-J, The Naked and Famous, Sleigh Bells, Pretty Lights, and few others, and old love for Yeasayer, Daft Punk, Halou, Zero 7, Portishead, Morcheeba, Massive Attack, The Faint, TV on the Radio, and a list as long as my arm.

I freaking love felafel. I will eat it until I'm sick. I've been trying (real hard) to stick to the South Beach diet lately, getting my veggies in. I exist on a diet primarily of stir fried vegetables and meat. I hardly ever eat any sugar, but I will always go to Glace if I'm near the plaza, because ICE CREAM.

I also really like gaming. Board games, table top games, role-playing games, video games, you know, real nerd things (I have all of Arkham Horror, if you know what that is, we should probably get to know each other. Just sayin.) I'm rather excited about Infinity, mostly because I can make it into an enormous arts and crafts project.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Pen and paper.
2. My kitten, Shadow! I think she can do without me, though.
3. Avocadoes/pineapples.
4. Stars, we are all made of them.
5. My towel. Always have a towel and remember not to panic.
6. I am going with Diet Dr. Pepper for now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Pretty much everything, really.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually not much, Thursday is game night! Hopefully hanging out with a cool new lady!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I day dream about a future with talking cats that, because of their sizable gambling debts, need me and my starship's crew's help (genitive possessive, yo) to find lost space Nazi Gold. That's just the premise.

If you are a god damn sexual tyrannosaurus. Really, any tyrannosaurus, cause how do you type with those tiny arms?

You want to talk about how awesome Wildstar is. Or possibly how much you like Trip hop.

You are interested in talking to an intelligent nerd and humanist!

Every person you meet knows something that you don't! I love sharing and I know a lot of eclectic stuff, so ask me whatever!
