My self-summary
I am some sort of opinionated bourgeois bohemian that is almost always positioned on the left side of the political spectrum, so if you consider yourself a republican I will probably think you suffer from a serious mental illness. Although I think democrats are more honest and civilized in general they are also too often too spineless for me to truly respect them.

I am financially stable, independent, attentive, considerate, affectionate, honest and supportive. (I am trying to reassure you here that I am not a selfish jerk because I detest selfishness). I am into healthy living, although I am not a puritan because I also enjoy gourmet cuisine and good wines. You should know right now that I like to play and watch soccer so you can’t pretend to be taken by surprise or complain about it when you see it happening! I try to do yoga on regular basis. I go to museums and enjoy spending time in nature just as much. I like to dance to latin music.

I am creative, passionate, and whatever
What I’m doing with my life
I am committed to social and environmental causes. I am creative and practice various forms of art. Other people think I am fortunate because I have an exciting lifestyle that involves traveling to foreign lands for the production and exhibition of art projects. I am equally at home in Amazonia as I am in Paris, Venice or New York.
I’m really good at
Cooking and entertaining friends. I am generally in a good mood and make other people laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
How much I make them think, laugh or eat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies
I enjoy independent and Avant-Garde films, but also film noire, suspense, dumb comedies and even spaghetti westerns.

TV
I like to watch the news but from foreign networks; in America there is no longer any news broadcast I can take seriously.

Music
Jazz , Opera, classical, bossanova, samba, rock, and world music. I don't like country music or what it represents.

Books
Too many to name. I have so many of them that when I move all my friends are miraculously out of town, or their pets had just died.
The six things I could never do without
1)
Amazonia: a good lantern to se what kind of insect, rodent or reptile is biting me in the middle of the night.
Paris: Pariscope, a complete guide to the museums exhibits, theaters, opera and the cinematheque française’s schedule
Venice: a tuna and olive tramezino sandwich and a Bellini or a Spritz Aperol drink
New York: Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum
2)
Amazonia: insect repellent and sun block
Paris: some neurotic or bohemian friend who is disappointed with life and wishes to hang around at bars to end up in the morning under the pont neuf singing songs by Charles Trenet, Serge Gainsburg or Vincent Delerm
Venice: good sneakers to keep ahead of the hordes of retarded tourists
New York: the always refreshing smell of urine in the subway
3)
Amazonia: all my cameras
Paris: Tart Tatin cake with cafe creme while reading Le Monde at the Luxembourg gardens on sunday afternoons
Venice: jet lagged early mornings at the city's fish and vegetable market bellow the Rialto bridge, the most complex and expensive array of fresh fish and crustaceans from Africa, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Nordic sea
New York: meeting my drinking pals to later start cursing in Japanese at the Sake Bar in the East Village, the one right down the street from Saint Mark’s bookstore
4)
Amazonia: dancing all night long with my girl friends in Cuiaba (see photo)
Paris: the bakery in the corner
Venice: the religious visit to San Michele Cemetery Island, the place to reunite with all the dead, mine and everyone else's
New York: Strand bookstore
5)
Amazonia: the passionate discussion about environmental issues
Paris: the dispassionate discussion about environmental issues
Venice: The biennale!
New York: dinner with my good friends who have been unable to land a good job in the publishing business for the last fifteen years and yet they are still trying

6)
Amazonia: my sense of direction
Paris: the good wines of Bordeaux
Venice: a decent hotel or an apartment with a real hot shower
New York: Duck Chow Fun in Chinatown
