My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a born and raised Oregonian, but I've moved back and forth betwixt here and Los Angeles numerous times. Went to film school down there and spent the better part of the last fifteen or so years doing varied entertainment industry work.

I'm a pretty laid-back guy, but I love a good debate. I have a dry sense of humour, but I'm not a bitter person. I don't much care about name brands or style trends, I'll decide for myself what I like.

Edit - Recently cut off my beard, but don't have a cache of pictures to go with it yet.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working in the local entertainment biz, getting back into the habit of writing, and trying to make Portland a permanent home.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Dancing. Sleeping. Being underwater. Making a margarita. Communing with animals. Meticulous weed-pulling. Back-rubs. Finding beauty and glory in strange and small places.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends. Family. Wilderness. Water. Quiet. Sunlight.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Love. Story structure. Space. The ineffable nature of reality. Making out.

There's probably a correlation there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going dancing or drinking or Netflixing or playing board games with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't try to oversell myself by putting up the best pictures I can find. I aim for a melange of this-is-what-you-can-actually-expect. I'm a touch over 6', about 170 lbs. Not ripped and muscular, I don't exercise regularly at the moment, I'm on the thin side of average.

On that note, why do so many people post pictures that are obfuscating or misrepresenting their appearance? Does tricking someone into a situation where they are going to be surprised by the reality seem like a good dating strategy?

I'd make my profile more irreverent, dry-humoured, and irascible, but that doesn't seem to play well over the internet. Maybe I shouldn't let that deter me though...

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like dancing, swimming, and Disneyland, or at least two for three of those.

You are an intellectual, or a creative type, or thoughtful, or empathic, or badass.

You do not have any chemical addictions, although I could forgive Stumptown coffee.

You don't take yourself too seriously.

My Mari Lwyd doesn't freak you out. I didn't make it for a project, I just thought it was an intriguing, frightening, and beautiful thing, and I wanted to make one, so I did.

You are compelled to do so.

None of the afore-mentioned suggestions are really that important, meth/heroin addiction notwithstanding.

Real Talk: I'm working approximately 70 hours a week. That doesn't leave me with a lot of free time. If you work on the weekends, especially Saturday nights, our paths will rarely cross.

Edit - I'm on hiatus from work until late June, and aim to not be working the same grueling hours I did last year, so hopefully I can eliminate the weekend caveat from my profile entirely!
