Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm not one to talk about myself but I do find it a fascinating
subject. I am often a pretty quiet person but that's because my
mind is always racing on a dozen different topics. When I find a
topic or person interesting, I can talk for hours about it.
I love life even when it drags me to my knees and I want to
experience as much of it as I can. Because of this I tend to say
yes to pretty much everything. Whatever it is, I'll give it a shot
and see where it goes from there. I am also quite whimsical and
known to jump into things that catch my interest without putting
much thought into it first.
I work a lot and i am currently trying to find a little more
balance in my life. When I set a goal I tend to stubbornly barrel
forward towards it to the point of self destruction. This is a flaw
I've been working on for a while.
I am very sarcastic and tend to be a bit of a contrarian. This is
another thing I've been working on because I sometimes find myself
fighting against something simply because it's popular. I do love
to play devils advocate though abs that will never change. I love a
good discussion on really any topic and it's no fun when it's just
an echo chamber. My opinions are very fluid and I'm always open to
new ideas but if you are going to change my mind I'm going to make
you work for it. There are few things I find more attractive in an
individual is someone who can consistently challenge me. Also
someone who realizes that not every question has an answer.
Sometimes the value is in the discussion itself.
That's all you get for now but I'm sure I'll add to this a bit more
in the future.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm just enjoying the summer while it's still here. Life
is a little bit up in the air right now but for the first time in a
long time, I'm not really stressing about it. I'm in the process of
a career change after finally realizing working 80 hour, 7 day
weeks isn't what I really want to do with my life. I'll always be
someone that works a lot but I'm looking to find a little more
balance in my life. At the moment I'm just working on getting the
new manager up to speed before I turn the office over to him and
Other than work, I spend a lot of time with my family down in the
southern tier, out on the lake and just hanging out by the fire
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a really adaptable person. Whether it's a new city, new
country, new job or just a new group of people, I'm comfortable in
pretty much any situation. I actually like putting myself in
situations where I have to push out of my comfort zone a bit.
It's along those same lines but I am also very good at finding the
positives in any situation. I'd like to think I'm a realist but
realistically I'm more of an optimist. I can normally see the
negitive but have never seem the point in letting things you can't
control bring you down. The secret to life is that no matter your
situation, you're the only one that controls your happiness.

Current top 5 books in no particular order:
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
Animal Farm by George Orwell
Jonathon Strange & Mr. Norrell by Suzanne Clark
I read a lot of fantasy books mixed in with a lot of the classics.
I also have a select group of people who's judgement I trust
absolutely so I read pretty much anything they recommend.
Movies and TV are always up in the air as favorites change pretty
regularly and I'll watch almost everything. I do have some staple
shows such as Breaking Bad, Game of thrones, it's always sunny,
Louie and community.
I have music on every opportunity I get and the type varies wildly
based on the occasion. The one that always has a chance of being on
no matter the occasion is classic rock. The top of the list
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Nature- At this point in my life I do prefer to live in the city, I
would actually prefer a significantly bigger city at that, but I'm
still a country boy at heart. I grew up hiking, climbing trees and
laying out under the stars and no matter where I go, I always have
to have access to that.
Friends- I do like to fly solo and go off adventuring on my own but
life is just more fun when you have like minded people to share it
Family- I travel a lot so I often find myself far from home and may
or may not even end up settling in the area but my family will
always be one of the most important things in my life.
Home base- While I love being social and keeping busy, I'm still
quite introverted. Eventually the batteries run out and I need to
be able to retreat to a place where I can clear my head and
Adventure- Life gets boring when everything becomes stable and
normal. I want to experience everything I can in this worldwhile
I'm here. Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone.
Books- They are how I relax, they challenge by beliefs, they expand
my mind, they take me on journeys to far off places, they make me
laugh and they make me cry. Even though I go through periods when I
don't have the time for books that I would like, they permeate
every level of my life and life wouldn't be the same without them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I have a hard time calming my mind down. My mind tends to jump from
topic to topic very regularly. I like to think about world affairs
and how those same affairs might be perceived by different people
around the world. I also really like to think about different
traits or behaviors, in myself and others, and track them back to
how they might have developed. I also like tackling the important
questions like what is the meaning of life, why are we here and who
would win in a fight, a polar bear or a Siberian tiger?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Anything from going to the bar with friends to cuddling up on the
couch with a book or movie to camping in the mountains.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You have something interesting to say. I'm not one for small talk
but I like talking about pretty much anything. Tell me about
something I know nothing about. Ask me about something you are
interested in knowing about me.Tell me about something that you
find fascinating. Ask me about something you've always wanted to
know even though it may have nothing to do with me.
I'm pretty easy to talk to, just give it a shot.
