Books: I literally have too many to list. Needless to say I like to
read. I've gone through most of the "classics" and consumed a fair
amount of other fiction and non-fiction though I have to confess my
exposure to off beat, little known authors isn't as extensive as I
would like. I guess my favorite ever are the works of Sir Arthur
Conan Doyle, specifically his work with Sherlock Holmes. I will
devour pretty much anything to do with that character new or old.
Also Aldous Huxley, Chuck Palahniuk, Anne Rice, Steven Erikson,
Vonnecut, Kerouac and many many more.
TV shows:I just discovered Dr. Who and fell in love with it I also
like Castle, Sherlock, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother (my new
favorite), and The Big Bang Theory. I also really like a lot of the
weird shows that show up on the History Channel or Discovery mostly
because I enjoy learning new things.
Movies: this list is easier: Anything w/ John Cusack in it. Most of
Russell Crowe's movies. And anything with Liem Niessen or Morgan
Freeman too. My favorite movie that has come out in the last 5
years was Unstoppable. Probably because like a lot of men I have an
irrational fondness for trains. Honestly though I feel like
Hollywood is really out of new ideas. I'm strangely excited for the
new Ghostbusters movie. I loved the first 2 as a kid and The Stay
Puft Marshmallow Man is my favorite movie bad guy of all
I also have a semi-secret appreciation for theater. I will always
give musicals and plays a fair shake and I try and support local
theater when I can.
Music: My music tastes have a tendency to be all over the place. My
iTunes goes from Sinatra to Johnny Cash to ACDC to Sabbath to the
Misfits to Brad Paisley to Seether to Howie Day and pretty much
everywhere in between. I also listen to Jazz and Blues. Pretty much
just anything that is not rap.
Food: I like my food exotic and spicy when I can get it that way.
Thai, Indian, traditional Mexican, Japanese, Chinese are my top 5
in descending order. Although I still enjoy a good cheeseburger
too. Beyond that 4 years in the Marine Corp means I can pretty well
eat anything and like it.
