My self-summary
I'm a pretty huge dork and make no apologies for it.

I love going to bars and trying new beers with friends. If I can find a bar with a good beer selection, I'm a happy guy. When I can't talk anyone into that, I spend time writing for my site, catching up on a few choice TV shows, repairing bikes for friends, fishing, gardening, and building furniture.

I'm just as comfortable on a river or in the woods as I am in a coffee shop or bar downtown. My favorite place to be is in a workshop with a project.

I moved out here from Kansas to be near family and then again after a stint in the Navy, but it's only been in the last year that I've started really enjoying Boston.
What I’m doing with my life
Today, I manage an engineering lab by day and run by night. I love to throw myself into a project, whether it's cooking or building something. I also try to find ways to incorporate charity work into my daily life.

All of this is done with the help of my trusty sidekick Waldo the Spaz-A-Cat. I rescued him from a barn last fall.
I’m really good at
I know how to fix your bike and I'm a fantastic cook. If you have a golf ball that you REALLY want to lose, I'm your guy.

If the world ended tomorrow, I could set up shop in a field with my beef and Guinness pie and I would easily found a small city. Where I'd procure the Guinness is another story.
The first things people usually notice about me
I get a lot of comments on my eyes - they shift between green and steel - blue. I'm also told I have a lot of energy.

I'm Scottish and Irish by descent - We get sunburned from watching fireworks. I often get told I'm a little red, as if people think I just haven't noticed.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Dog's Purpose, The Art of Racing in the Rain, The Historian, The Rule of 4, The Alchemist, all of the Harry Potter books, and any of about a hundred other books.

TV: Dr. Who, Sherlock, Top Gear, The West Wing, Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, the list goes on and on...

Movies: WAY too long of a list to go into here - I love movies! I especially like comedies.

Food: Just follow! A few of my favorite recipes to cook are my cinnamon flan, chicken and orzo soup, cranberry chicken pot pie, beef and guinness pie, and any kind of barbecue. I also just sold my first batch of beer! The Blue Box (Bottling) Company's Allons-y Belgian Tripel!
The six things I could never do without
Aside from my family and friends, there's a lot I could do without. As long as I have a project / destination / goal that I'm moving toward, I'm a happy guy!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
There's a great, big, threatening button over there. A great, big, threatening button which must not be pressed under any circumstances, am I right? I think I'll press it!
On a typical Friday night I am
Every week is a little different, but I usually spend most of the weekends working on projects and spending time with my roommates.

This last few weeks I've been treating winter like the monster under the bed - If I don't acknowledge it, it can't be real. Shorts and a T-shirt in a snow storm? Child's play! Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be out in a snow bank working on my tan.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a serious romantic.

I would do anything for love, but I would do more for pie... or German chocolate cake.

If you're only looking for someone for tonight, thanks, but that isn't really what I'm looking for at this point in my life. If you're open to seeing where things go, then let's grab a drink!
