I am open, wary, and a bag of chips.

My Self-Summary

Chicks dig me because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual.

...ok, I stole that self-summary from Bill Murray and it's not even really accurate.

The short story is I'm 30, an atheist, IT professional, a Navy vet, and [Expletive Deleted]. I was born in LA and have lived here my entire life except four years spent in Japan with the Navy. I don't like to affiliate with any political party because I dislike all of them, but i tend to lean towards libertarian ideals and occasionally contribute to a libertarian blog.

I'm a card carrying member of The Electronic Frontier Foundation, The Freedom From Religion Foundation, and The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. 215

I'm not looking for a serious relationship right now. I recently got out of a serious relationship and want to just focus on everything I have going on. I'm just here looking for new friends and people to hang out with. I enjoy going places I've never been, meeting new people, and trying new things.

Oh yeah, and I have a mentally challenged, gay, dog who sometimes sounds like a monkey.

What I’m doing with my life

For a living, I'm IT manager for a toy company. I love technology and science so enjoy my job; budgets, meetings, etc less so. In the last couple years I've joined the mac cult.

In my free time I like to write, do amateur photography, [redacted], work on my 73 bug project, and read. I recently started training Muay Thai kick boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and other aspects of Mixed Martial Arts. I'm a big MMA fan and wanted to get a better understanding of the sport as well as get in better shape. Plus it's fun.

I'm also starting a clothing business with my brother as a side project.

I’m really good at

Anything I put my mind to. The problem is I'm easily distracted.

Problem solving, learning new technology, learning new anything, sleeping, cleaning a bong, writing, story critique, massage, lounging, helping people move (no I won't), and making a dirty Martini are a few of things I've managed to gain skill in.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I look a lot like the guy in my profile picture.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like anything done well but don't really have favorites. I like all types of music except most country and all polka music. It really depends on my mood and what I'm doing.

I was a film major for a brief period in college and like to write screenplays. So I enjoy all typed of film as long it's done well. Sometime even if it's not. Sometimes I'll watch movies that just plain suck just to critique them. I'll occasionally watch old 80's action flicks on the Spanish channel when they play on Sunday.

I'll read anything but mostly it's non fiction and comic books / graphic novels.

Now for the random list of crap I eat, read, listen to, and watch (not necessarily in that order): Outliers, Freakonomics, A Short History of Nearly Everything, Assassination Vacation, The Power of One, Fountainhead, Hack & Slash, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Sandman, Y the Last Man, Gojira, Dry Kill Logic, Busdriver, Yo Yo Ma, Classic Rock, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Old School Rap, Beethoven, Slipknot, Pump Up the Volume, Fight Club, The Universe, Ancient Discoveries, Penn and Teller's Bullshit, The Union, Battle Royal, Brazil, Venture Brothers, The Devils Backbone, Weeds, Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd, Curry (India, Thai, and Japanese), Americanized Asian food (people who have had Chinese food in Hong Kong or Thai food in Thai Land will know what I mean), Sushi, and Trader Joe's burritos.

There's a lot more, I find new stuff to like constantly, but this should give a general idea. Yes, I could have sorted it better.

The six things I could never do without

1. The ability to do without.
2. See #1

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Everything. Especially when trying to sleep.

On a typical Friday night I am

I have no idea.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

People say my handwriting looks like a serial killer's.

You should message me if

You want to. You've nothing better to do. You have something better to do but no one to do it with. Your profile pictures suck and you want to model in exchange for shots. You want to meet up for lunch at a Japanese Curry at a place by where I work in West LA. If you have any kind of statement to make or question to ask because that's what messages and communication are for.

Oh and if you're religious and/or easily offended you shouldn't bother messaging me. People can believe whatever they want but I'm not going to hold back on what I really think about gods, magic, or attempting to figure out what's happening Tuesday based on the location of Jupiter on the day you were born.
