My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm smart, kind, creative, and laid back. I'm sometimes shy, but love meeting new people, and when I get along well with someone, I quickly lose myself in conversation, or general silliness if it fits the mood.

I have a sense of humor that ranges from geeky to silly, and even appreciate a "good" pun (that being one that makes others groan, generally). I like to view almost everything light-heartedly. Conversations full of sarcasm and wit are the most entertaining, at least most of the time ;).

I'm definitely a geek, but rather socially ept (that's the opposite of 'inept', right?). My geekery centers mostly on games (board games, card games, table-top RPGs, playing video games or, more often, making them), but also covers other media (anime, movies) and events (anything that's a good excuse for a costume - Ren Faires, anime conventions).

I'm looking to meet new people here with the intention of dating, but am expecting to meet friends along the way. I think anyone whom I have a good romantic relationship with must be a good friend in the end as well. A number of my best friends in the past have been people I was once romantically involved with, and I'm still friends with almost every girl I've dated.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm satisfied with my career life, I like it where I am, and I'm doing the job of my childhood dreams (programming video games). I often spend time going up and down mountains (skiing in the winter, hiking the rest of the year), I have some hobbies I quite enjoy (recently picked up archery, which is great fun), and am active in a few social groups.

I love to travel! In the past few years I've had a nice time traveling to Japan, Greece, Hawaii, China, back to Japan, all great places to visit, but generally have gone with coworkers or family - which was fun, but not as great as traveling with someone special! So, now, I think, it's time to find that someone special.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Skiing, which I enjoy as often as I can. Singing, which I do regularly with my church choir and whenever possible. Programming, which I do for my job and for fun and for fun at my job. Giving back rubs, I've been told I'm good at that. I'm also good at receiving them! *hint* *hint*
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair, which is quite long, and quite nice, if you like that kind of thing. And then I speak, and they notice my voice, which is rather unique and higher than you'd expect.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - I like fantasy stories which are about characters and drama and politics, not about setting. I've been told this makes me a bad fan of fantasy novels, as they are often focused on setting. Brust: Yeah! Tolkien: No! (unless it's a movie)

Anime - I love anime. Normally only if it has a good, well-executed story, and an ending. I hate stories that don't end well. My favorite anime would be Gankutsuou (re-telling of The Count of Monte Cristo, as an anime, in SPACE!). Other favorites are Toradora, Kenshin, Kare Kano. Sub-titled: Yes! Dubs: No! (unless they're really good)

Movies - just about anything if artfully done. I asked NetFlix what I've rated the highest most often, and apparently it's sci-fi. That makes sense. I also like bad movies, when watched with an appropriate group, they can be more fun than a good movie. My favorite movies include Boondock Saints, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Dogma, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, 12 Monkeys, Tombstone.

Music - making it.

Food - eating it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Human interaction - I love people and being around them, which is often energizing, though I also sometimes love solitude and recharge that way.
2. Ethnic food variety - I love eating at a different restaurant from a different part of the world (or, well, at least a different part of Asia...) each day.
3. Mtn Dew - I drink a couple cans of this a day, and many more if something like a LAN party is involved. By the way, they renamed "Mountain Dew" to "Mtn Dew" a few years back. I think the first word now must rhyme with "Kitten."
4. My sense of humor
5. Grace - both in the spiritual sense, and in the world around me, few things fill me with energy as much as something truly graceful, whether it be a wilderness vista, a cat, an artful performance, or just a person in my life.
6. The number 6. Well, actually, I take that back, I could do without the number 6, as I can't think of a sixth thing to list here. Who has a list of 6 things anyway? Shouldn't it be 5?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
... what to write for this entry! Well, maybe not, but I will! Maybe...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm Catholic, but my religion is rather personal. I'll never try to convert someone. I follow Christ with my actions, and avoid words where possible ;). I fully believe in what is essentially the Church's philosophy on other religions - God is multi-faceted, can be viewed from many angles, and all authentic religions are simply seeing a different facet of that same God. As long as your faith or religion does not preclude the possibility that other religions may also be valid, we'll get along fine.

You're intelligent, perhaps a bit kind and a bit quirky, interested in some entertaining chatting or email conversations, perhaps shortly followed by a date, definitely involving delicious food and hopefully delightful company!

NetFlix recently told me: "It seems you like a strong female lead." Could you be her?
