I am a prana mover, a hue man, and yes that too.
My Self-Summary
I like all things that have to do with exploring the world and
being outside. I love travel and being lost in a new place.
I do a lot of yoga (especially kundalini) and mediation.
I practice martial arts (Jeet Kune Do).
I surf and scuba dive (used to be an instructor in Thailand).
I am very intelligent and well-rounded and well-travelled. But I
don't brag about that, because I believe intelligence and wisdom
are two different things. So I'm working on the latter and trying
to control the former.
I wasn't born in this country, but have lived here for 20 years
now.
Except for Antarctica, I have been to every continent.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to live it and enjoy every moment.
I’m really good at
Sitting in meditation for hours.
Keeping perfect buoyancy when diving. Just like a fish.
Holding balancing asanas.
Pendulum heel kick.
Waking up early for things I love doing. Procrastinating for things
I have to do.
The first things people usually notice about me
that I look nothing like Richard Simmons.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I go through phases with all of those. And I have like 5-10 books
that I re-read continously and simultaneosly. Mainly spiritual,
Eastern religion/philosophy type stuff. And I read normal books
too. The last one that stands out in my mind is Memoirs of a
Geisha. Don't watch that crappy movie. Read the book! It's great.
Oh, and I'll read anything John le Carré (only on vacation though
-- a bit intense to read after a long day at work), even though I
can see why he's not for everyone. I'll read anything by Nick
Hornby, and I love 19th century English and French litterature, as
well as classical Greek and Indian epics.
Music... I'm into most stuff. But I go through David Gray phases
all the time. And has anyone heard () by Sigur Ros? Just discovered
it recenlty. Blows my mind.
My top 5 albums of all time (doesn't mean I listen to them that
often)
...in no particular order.... ....and this may change
tomorrow....
Abbey Road
Ten
White Ladder
Kid A
Black Celebration
Modern Times
Other notable albums:
Sam's Town
Master of Puppets
The Mirror Conspiracy
Making Movies
...and of course...
Best Of
Food... Well Thai has to be on there. I've lived in Thailand, so
it's like home cooking to me. Japanese, Mexican... I like what I
make for myself too. Some kick-a$$ salads, etc. I haven't had any
"red" meat in like 4 yrs now. Sometimes I'll have some seafood or
bird. If it doesn't swim or fly (at least when you kick it) I don't
eat it.
Movies.... I watch about 1 or 2 movies a week (on DVD usually). So
many good ones out there. The ones that pop into my mind right now
are: The Big Lebowski, Love Actually, Old School, Lost in
Translation.
The six things I could never do without
Meditation
Yoga
Ocean/Sea
Tropical Islands
Mosquito repellant
Human contact
A close 7th: hammock between two palm trees on a remote beach on a
remote island with no cell phones, roads or resort tourists
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Thailand and other tropical places. Also Sweden and other temperate
places.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like to stay active on the weekend, so I may watch a movie on
Friday night and hit the sack. Or maybe dinner with a friend. Or a
walk. Nothing too late. Well I might make an exception or two...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Whenever I see a full moon I have a strong urge to howl at it.
