In terms of books, I love dystopian literature such as We by Evgeny Zamyatin, 1984, Bend Sinister, and a Clockwork Orange. I also love James Joyce, William Faulkner, Franz Kafka, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Vladimir Nabokov, Viktor Pelevin and David Foster Wallace. Amongst my favorite selections are The Sound and the Fury, Ulysses, Generation P, 2666 by Roberto Bolano, Crime and Punishment, Notes from the Underground, and Infinite Jest.

I'm a big fan of international cinema, and I love Japanese, German and American new wave in particular. Some of my favorite directors are Stanley Kubrick, Andrei Tarkovsky, Shohei Immamura, Michelangelo Antonini, Werner Herzog, Terrence Malick, Lars Von Trier, Alfred Hitchcock, Volker Schlondorff, Alain Resnais, Wim Wenders, John Schlesinger, Robert Altman, Lodge Kerrigan and Yasujiro Ozu. Specific Movies include 2001, La Notte, Ivan's Childhood, A Woman in the Dunes (Hiroshi Teshagahara), Come and See, The Tin Drum, The Tree of Life, Solaris, Barry Lyndon, Paris Texas, Taxi Driver, The Last Year at Marienbad, 3 Women and Equinox Flower.

TV shows: The Wire, Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, The Twilight Zone, Jeopardy

I Love David Bowie, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Bob Dylan (Really I love all the canonized figures of 60s and 70s pop). I like a lot of Indie rock from the 90s like Pavement, Guided By Voices, Slint, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel and Bedhead. My favorite Rappers include every member of the Wu-Tang Clan in the following order: The GZA (my all time favorite rapper), Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Inspektah Deck, Raekwon, Ol' Dirty Bastard, The Rza, and U-God. I also love Mos Def, Mobb Deep, Nas, Andre Nickatina, Eric B. and Rakim, NWA, Biggie, Tech N9ne, De La Soul, the Beastie Boys and Eminem. In addition I am a big fan of Grizzly Bear and the Department of Eagles, the Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective, TV on the Radio and Radiohead.
