My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm just about to move back to Glasgow to work as a science teacher. As you may guess I'm a bit of a geek. Aside from that, I'm really into music, books and climbing.

I grew up in the highlands and so have a love for hills and the outdoors in general. It's one of the reasons I started rock climbing. I love going to weird, out of the way places which is why I did the Mongol Rally a couple of years ago and spent six weeks driving a crappy Rover from the UK to Mongolia. If I had more money I'd probably spend all my time doing stuff like that.

I dislike the Fox network and think pandas are the crappiest thing evolutions has ever come up with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently trying to figure out how to turn my knowledge of obscure Scandinavian music into money. So far this quest has proved fruitless.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Finding out how things work. Gaming. Making really tiny things (it's what I did for my PhD). Climbing, well I'm trying to become a good climber. Discussing pretentious stuff in the pub. Fixing things. Telling people about the history of Black Metal.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look a bit like Jesus. A guy in Russia once asked if I should be drinking and eating pork due to my resemblance to a Russian orthodox priest.

Any of Haruki Murakami's work. Joe Sacco's comic book journalism is another favorite. I generally like anything that mixes the mundane with the extraordinary. I'm currently reading a book about the history of nuclear development in the US and some of Nietzsche's work, so happy fun stuff.

Seven Samurai is probably the best film of all time. Drive is my current favorite modern film. It had an amazing sound track, great acting and looked beautiful.

I just finished watching True Detective and thought it was the best TV show since The Wire.

I think Beethoven's 7th Symphony is the most beautiful piece of music ever written. I'm into a whole bunch of different types of music so here's a list of bands/composers I like: Jesu, Neurosis, Tool, Ulver, Tenhi, Isis, Action Bronson, Bach, Earth, Digital Mystikz, Modeselektor, Charlie Mingus, Gorgoroth, Sunn O))), Lee "Scratch" Perry, Entombed, Mastodon, Fuck Buttons... this could go on for a while.

Food wise, anything with a bit of spice to it is great. Cheese is amazing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Climbing Shoes
Stuff to figure out
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can get a job where I can use my knowledge of the history of the soviet union; my love of bleak places; my scientific and engineering skills; and my ability to use a semicolon correctly.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At the pub
Computer or board gaming
Going to a gig/club
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have vomited all over Tajikistan; food poisoning is a very bad thing.
