I'm a musician, I cook, I'm hyper-social, and I clean up pretty damn well when the need arises. I'm very active, I read voraciously, I can hold my liquor better than most people twice my size, and I'm a very, very entertaining conversationalist as long as you have an odd/dark sense of humor. That last part is very important. I recently saw a dead deer on the side of the highway and someone had tied an inflatable metallic "get well soon" balloon to its leg....and I don't think I stopped laughing for two days. So take that how you will.
What I’m doing with my life
Loving my job and playing music with 2 current bands...maybe a third if I'm feeling extra masochistic.
Curbing a lot of the old rowdy habits but still enjoying the odd weekend wild bender. I can and will still drink you under the table to a Meshuggah soundtrack if the night calls for it.
Taking back up a lot of old hobbies I forgot I enjoyed...biking, reading, and knocking the dust off my chops on all the familiar instruments.
I have fun.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, making loud noises, making light of really dark subjects, writing classical guitar arrangements of terrible 80s pop songs.
The first things people usually notice about me
Loud and short.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:A Clockwork Orange, Brave New World, Jitterbug Perfume
Shows:30 Rock, Trailer Park Boys, American Dad, always sunny
Music: fuck.....black breath, trap them, neurosis, sleepy sun,
polica, bjork, pig destroyer, converge, Godspeed you! Black
emperor, periphery, jd McPherson , Peter Gabriel, meshuggah, all
pigs must die, explosions in the sky, the chariot, deicide,
eyehategod, some EDM sometimes, I don't know just ask me and we'll
talk about it
Food: Everything hotter than hell itself.
The six things I could never do without
My dog Akira
Dave's insanity sauce
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Doomsday scenarios, quantum physics (I don't understand them but I
love trying) whether what you see as blue is completely different
than what I see as blue but we'll never know because there's no
objective standard to communicate the qualities of a color, whether
the same principle applies to sound, how Kurt Russell grew his
beard in The Thing, whether or not black metal bands are serious
about themselves or if they're just fucking with us, etcetera
On a typical Friday night I am
Seeing live music and hanging out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I didn't learn to swim until I was 13.
You should message me if
You want to go catch a band and have some really loud, nerdy conversation. Or coffee and some quiet, equally nerdy conversation. I'm a pretty sure thing for a good time.
