I'm Louisiana born and bred but after college I left home to see what else there is to offer. From there I moved to Alaska, Colorado, and Yosemite. I was happy there for 7 years and then desired to back in a city without leaving the west coast. And Portland had what I was looking for as most of my friends I've made through the years are either from here or moved here from my hometown (Shreveport, LA, 4th unhappiest city in the country in a recent poll, there's a reason we all left). The nice thing about having all my Cajun friends up here is when we get together and cook.
I had been blessed over the past several years with a job that supplied me with plenty of vacation time. So I got to travel around quite a bit. It was a dream job secluded in the national forests but being away from society grew old.
