My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Interesting, interested.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just moved back to Vancouver, after 15 years in Toronto. This has been on the books for about 10 of them, so I'm glad to be here again, closer to family, old friends and all that rain I've been missing. Kidding. Someone tell me where to buy a good, waterproof shell?!

Work wise, I'm chipping away at a career that's part Management, part Design and part Construction. I asked for and got a work transfer, so that has made settling in a whole lot easier.

Play wise... In my free time I enjoy drinks out with friends, dinners, films, Vancouver Island visits, bike rides, seeing new neighborhoods and hunting for gluten-free bakeries. That's right, I'm one of those (and could convert you with this cookie I just bought).

Looking to balance big city life with more outdoor adventures in the next year.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Prepping for a bbq, biking defensively, un-tucking my shirt, lending an ear, sketching on the fly, reading subtitles.
The first things people usually notice about me

Not sure...I guess I'll have to start asking?

Don't read as much as I'd like, but some David Sedaris is always good for the laughs. Currently plowing through the Steve Jobs book, and his world of obsessive compulsion, and black crew-necks.

Movies- Documentaries, Classics, Almodovar, Greenaway, Coen Brothers, Woody Allen, Gay stuff on Netflix that doesn't suck.

T.V.- The Wire, Mad Men, This American Life, A small helping of RuPaul, Downton Abbey of course.

Music- Random selection: The War on Drugs, Austra, Shamir, Hot Chip, Little Boots, Caribou, Disclosure, Magnetic Fields, The Knife, Arthur Russell, Jim Guthrie, Johnny Cash, Talking Heads, what I find on rdio.

Eats- French, Ethiopian, Indian, Korean, Homemade!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
a queer community
the outdoors
a downtown pad
a job
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the places I've been, my career, my friends, what I like about the city, how to make things better, what I'm making for dinner.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As hard as I've worked to embrace queer/ alternative dating relationships, ultimately I'm hoping to find a LTR who I can share hot times with. Independent but together, that kind of thing. I've had it before, and know it's what I want to find again. Of course this is not a conversation you'd typically have on a first date...but online dating is a whole different beast, so there you go!

-More awareness/sensitivity and less judgement/black and white
-More versatile and less top/bottom
-More intimate repeats and less one night stands
-More witty/stupid funny and less sarcastic/mean funny
-More social justice and less right wing
