My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm actually not quite in California yet, I'm about to move there and was bored and figured I'd change my profile. I have a week or two before I start at UC Davis when I'll just be hanging around and going to SF, maybe doing some other touristy type of things. Perhaps I could line up a local guide.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Starting a grad program at UC Davis. Psyched to be moving to Cali. A little nervous too, but mostly psyched.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am definitely not good at putting up recent pictures, but I am good at looking five years younger than I am, so I guess there is a balance there. I should throw some pictures up from this summer though; it was epic.

I have made a few records that are on iTunes. If you search "Eddie West" you will find them. I wrote all the music on them, and that is me singing and playing guitar.

I was a Boy Scout and do the leave-no-trace camping thing every once in a while. I'm good at nature basically.

For all you travel enthusiasts out there, I have been to all fifty states. That includes Alaska and Hawaii... all fifty.

My favorite author is John McPhee. You probably haven't heard of him, but he's been writing for the New Yorker since the 60's. Also I've read many garden authors, Michael Pollan is probably the most notable.

My all-time favorite musician is Neil Young. People say I sound a lot like him. Kaki King, Billy Bragg, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Los Lobos, Bonnie Raitt, Gov't Mule - these are all recent phases.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my guitars
driving places (sorry, climate)
my siblings
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
having my own farm. I also think about music - song ideas, how to sound better, etc. I do this while walking, driving, or even sleeping (musical dreams signify harmony).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
ideally seeing or performing live music, otherwise there isn't too much reason for me to be going out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't like this site, but I'm willing to give it a try.
