My self-summary
My favorite people are the train-wreck of their successful friends, and the successful ones of their train-wreck friends. It's a fascinating type to know.

My favorite game is travelling.

My favorite bars are the ones with good gin.

When I have no gin, I read. When I have too much, I write.

When I have no travel, I improvise. When I have no work, I box.

When I have no one fascinating, I go on OkCupid.

I'm mostly unserious, entirely curious, and don't understand either why the internet leads people to such a startling heights of creeperism (I apologize on behalf of my gender). But the best thing about travel is the ability to talk to a stranger just because, so let's.

What I’m doing with my life
The closest I come to religion is that I like Hermes quite a lot. He's the patron of orators, travelers, medics, shepherds, thieves, liars and inventors. I like to think about myself a little like that. I'm after a job that lets me move words around and help people who need it.

So I'm getting my JD at NYU Law. And I work embarrassingly and unhipfully hard at being good at it.

I'm aiming, after law school, to start working as a Public Defender. That career would pretty well combine my problems with authority with my love of people. Fucking with police officers every day and helping delinquents? Yes please.

That's the glib explanation, because telling people I sincerely care about the well-being of criminals elicits a lot of blank stares.
I’m really good at
I'm a medic, a sharp dresser and an incredibly unpicky eater. I've taught at few universities.

I read people well and words better. I have impeccable luck. Sometimes my advice is good. Sometimes my writing is good. Sometimes my breakfast is good. I can fix almost anything.

I can usually get on the right train.

I know a lot about history.

I'm not good at painting or gardening, but these are some of my favorite occupations.

I've never met a dog I haven't befriended.

The six things I could never do without
My passport, my camera, someone to talk to, my notebook, good food, my watch.

Living up here it's a necessity to live without sunshine, but I would prefer not to. Ditto for the ocean.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Judgment, insight, stories, ethics, patterns, power, privilege, excess.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I briefly, but seriously, considered replacing my entire profile with the Fox's monologue from Le Petit Prince.

I'm better off without a beard. I was crushed beneath the weight of it. I accept this about myself.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–26
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you're smart. If you're passionate. If there are more things you like than dislike. If the most interesting thing about yourself is not your prickliness regarding grammar. If you know a secret.

If I've messaged you, why pass up a perfectly fine opportunity to banter?

If in any way you are very, very clever.
