My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Life's greatest pleasures come when you don't expect them. So I've stopped looking for the needle in the haystack-- I'm looking wherever the light is shining. So here's my offer: a fun, no pressure friendship that can turn from something good into something great and from something great into the best thing that's every happened to both of us.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a writer who has been successful enough to organize his life around his two beautiful daughters and now with time and room to add new love. It's frankly an Act II for me, but one that is making life better for me every day. Life changes pretty fast-- and in ways we don't always see coming.

I'm convinced that the best things in life happen when you are open to possibilities. So who knows? We may just be one good date from finding that person that makes life that much better.

A lot can happen over a cup of coffee.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
uncovering adventure, finding the good in people, being generous, appreciating life's pleasures, smiling. listening. making this moment count. basketball. running, writing, tadasana.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile, easy going nature and calm, strong confidence. They may also notice me doing yoga and running or sitting in the front row of an Ironpigs game.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I have a strong taste for all things Italian: food, vegetable gardens, accordion music, its cities and rural villages, and Life is Beautiful. But at heart, I'm all All-American and love a tailgate or cookout, Raymond Carver, East of Eden and To Kill a Mockingbird, Pee Wee's Playhouse and Planet of the Apes. Elf and The Natural. Ken Burns and Ira Glass. Elvis -- Costello and Presley. My iPod is ridiculously jammed with Alternative (past, present, pop, ska and punk) and just about everything but self-indulgent jazz (blech). Love good shows, bad movies, great TV and practically any sporting event.

I stopped drinking several years ago yet am very comfortable around any situational drinking. However, after a series of love interests that were heavy drinkers, let's just say I've made that mistake enough for this lifetime. If you still like getting drunk from time-to-time, I'm not your guy.

The current list of books that changed my life is topped by Anthony DeMello's Awareness. A very short read that had me rethinking everything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Windows that open to fresh air
2. A big bed
3. the touch of skin on skin
4. Something to write on, with
5. Iyengar Yoga
6. The Land: Trees, Lakes, Gardens and Open Fields
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
1. How to know and be known by others.
2. My coursework in Positive Psychology, the science of happiness and high performance
3. What needs to be done and how to do it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
eating, laughing and staying up past midnight. WOO HOO. If I have my 9-year old (about every third Friday) then she comes first. After she's had her fun and fallen asleep, I stay up late to talk, watch a game, movie or work on a personal writing project. I catch live music and theatre whenever I can and enjoy live sporting events. Big Phillies fan and Very Big Sixers fan. I've had season tickets to both over the years (and still currently do for the Ironpigs) but now only go to a few games a year.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I did not expect to be here.
