I'm a sports junkie with a habit of working a typical 8-5 in an office building.
What I’m doing with my life
I play soccer a couple times a week and ultimate frisbee on weekends, until it is summer, then that schedule flip-flops and I add golf when I can. When I'm not playing anything, I like watching the Red Wings or Blue Jackets, the Crew, and the Lions. If none of that is going on, I'll revert to video games or Netflix.
I audit telecommunications invoices and execute projects to reduce those costs, think saving $5 on the cable bill multiplied by a national company. I swear there are some days I'm on the phone all day, but actually get nothing of substance done, it is so frustrating. I also have those days where everything lines up and I knock everything out, but this is the precious rarity.
I've thought about going back to school for an MBA, but I want to get tuition assistance support from my company before I do. See, I can be pretty good at accounting. ;-)
I’m really good at
Jumping in with both feet. I try not to jump on a whim, but when I decide to do something I commit everything I have to the cause.
As an example, I moved to Columbus for a job; I was called Thursday evening for an interview, I didn't actually get the voicemail until Friday morning at 7:30. I interviewed Friday at 11, from home the drive was two and a half hours to get to the interview. I got an offer by 2pm that afternoon. I moved to that weekend and started work Monday, sleeping on a friend's couch for the first 6 weeks while I searched for a place of my own. I basically went from unemployed living at home to moving in with a friend temporarily and starting a fulltime job within 3 days.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, I've been told I have very intense eyes. I think it was a compliment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
To be honest, I haven't opened a book for pleasure with the single exception of The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green, in far too long to remember. I have a subscription to Audible and typically listen to it in the car when going to and from work, or when at work on a slow day, or at home when I'm very interested in the story. The last couple of entries on my list are: The Throne of Glass series, by Sarah Maas; Medium Raw by Anthony Bourdain; the Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin, and a couple of entries in The Great Courses series - if you like the TEDx videos on YouTube, I would whole heartedly suggest these.
The six things I could never do without
Family, Technology, Electricity, Sunshine, Music, Fresh Air
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How my life will turn out, what to do next and how to get to where
I want to be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends. Not a big fan of going to bars, but I'll
go with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've been in drag, think corset, fishnets and 4" heels, to help AIDS research.
Yes, you will have to ask me about the full story.
You should message me if
You are confident in who you are, and want to get to know someone
new. Confidence is the most attractive thing anyone can possess.
