I've been told I have an infectious smile and outlook. I'd have to agree with this sentiment.

I love problem solving, though with people I generally abstain after the first two or three suggestions.

Of all the cities I've been in, Chicago fits me the best, for now. In 20 years I am assuming Florence will take over that spot.

Two-wheeled transport is the best way to take in the city at night. Also, I have four bicycles and a motorcycle.

Being able to work on your own possessions, or modify random bits of technology to your own purposes, is a vastly underrated skill.

Self-summarized, boom.

In order of importance...
1) Enjoying and entertaining friends
2) Riding/playing with/fixing bikes
3) Engineering things
4) Sleep
5) Using music to put me into moods
6) (board/video/mind) games
7) Reading
8) Drinking or brewing beer

Head massages, wondering over physics quandaries, dancing (or at least enjoying dancing), figuring out how it broke and how to fix it, getting people to ramble past where they meant to stop, the first 77% of crosswords, riding bikes, sweet potatoes, and making beer.

Bouncing hair, almost always first, and then the smile. Both have come naturally so I'm quite charmed that they provide an accurate first impression.

Books: Catch-22, If On a Winter's Night a Traveler..., the Amber Spyglass series, Ender's Game, any Vonnegut save Slaughterhouse-Five, Dandelion Wine, the Autobiographies of Mark Twain and Malcolm-X, Scott Pilgrim, Transmetropolitan, Asterios Polyp. Right now big into the Oulipo style.

Movies: Anything by Kurosawa, Brazil, Mystery Team, Food Inc., Wayne's World, Blues Brothers, Friday, Transformers 3 (I DARE you to find something more insane)

Shows: Community, The Regular Show, The Venture Brothers, The Wire, Firefly, new Sherlock Holmes

Music: Uhh damn. Ok, here's some scattershot: Tribe Called Quest, P.O.S., Starfucker, Sonny Boy Williamson, Mark Ronson, Phoenix, Pete Rock and C.L. Food: Everything delicious, especially when involving squashes, coconut, nuts, rosemary, olive oil, cilantro, lime, black beans, sweet potatoes, gluten-based things, cinnamon, red pepper, avocado, and dark chocolate. Mix and match all of those and you're bound to hit brilliance.

People, for all of the chance interactions and randomness, have to take first. The rest have their perks too, though.

Bicycles allow me to discover my surroundings without any of the typical barriers, and keep me grounded when my mind is getting overloaded. Computers provide a (far too large) wealth of information and stories, meaning I end up researching tidal interactions at 2AM. Chicago in summer...well, if you haven't experienced that I need to introduce you ASAP...there is literally magic that you can pull out of the air. Coffee shops and good bars, for the always-welcoming aura.

And as a bit of a weird one, unanswered questions. They're like little quanta of motivation and wonderment.

How various parts of the country function as cultures, environmental issues, how to make an impact on issues I care about.

I'm also constantly thinking back to recent events as I try to shape my terrible memory into serviceable form. This happens all the time when I'm reading, to make sure I didn't flip through 7 pages while mentally stuck in a completely different topic.

Taking a short ride between getting home and going out for the fun of it? Yes. Heading to a friend's place to MST3K-style critique a movie? Yes. Trying the new beer selection at Small Bar? Yes. Staying out because the friends are completely worth it? Yes. Finding a dance party because dancing is the most fun? Yes.
