I am sweet, spontaneous, and laid back.
My Self-Summary
Describing yourself can sometimes be an arduous task so I asked
some friends to describe me. They came up with, "a nerdy, geeky,
spicy, spit-fire of adorable, lovable goodness," "suspiciously
adorable," and "gorgeous, nerdy, and delightfully sexual in a
sultry and secretive kind of way." I think it's also pertinent to
mention that I'm a really laid-back, easy-going, drama-free kind of
a person. I like being around similar low key kind of people.
I like dogs, cooking, 3rd wave ska, Star Wars (The original
trilogy, of course), taking naps in the grass on a warm day, tea,
Pixar, old books, the smell of the ocean, beer, frozen yogurt,
sailing, board games, and hiking. I don't like horror movies,
potatoes, and not much else.
My friends and family are a huge part of my life. I have the best
family on Earth, it's totally true. I'm really close with my
siblings and my parents as well as my huge extended family. I have
a great group of friends too and can usually be found hanging out
down the street at their house, laying on one of the many couches
in Sundayland (the name for their back yard, because it always
feels like Sunday when you're there) or challenging the boys to a
game of beer pong. Or else I can be found going on random,
spontaneous adventures with my BFF, like driving out to Idyllwild
in the middle of the night to watch a meteor shower and driving
back when the sun rises.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working towards becoming a nurse. I love nursing and every
minute of what I do, which is probably good because it takes up the
majority of my life right now.
I'm also trying to double major in German because I'm crazy and I
guess decided I didn't need much of a social life. But I'm
currently taking a break from the whole German thing.
I’m really good at
I'm a really good cook, I must say. I'm also really good at drawing
- I used to be an animation student once upon a time ago, but
that's a story that doesn't end happily ever after.
I can also pretty much guarantee that I will kick your ass at Mario
Kart.
The first things people usually notice about me
My huge tattoo, my piercing, or my gray-blue eyes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, The
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglass Adams, and Battle
Royale by Koushun Takami. I also really like the Sookie Stackhouse
books, in a guilty pleasure kind of way. I think Don Karlos is the
best play ever written - it is absolutely perfect. I've yet to see
it on stage though. I also love Achewood. If you read Achewood you
get all hell of mad bonus points and I will make you a Ketel One
martini. If you don't read Achewood I probably just made myself
sound like an idiot.
Movies: Kill Bill 1 & 2, Pulp Fiction, Amelie, Little Miss
Sunshine, Hayao Miyazaki films, The Princess Bride, Mel Brooks
films, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original), Das Leben
Der Anderen, Fritz Lang films (especially M), and every movie Pixar
has ever made ever.
Music: I like a pretty wide range of music. I listen to a lot of
acoustic and Indy music, especially when I study (which is a lot.).
My favorite bands are The Mars Volta and The Mountain Goats. But
right now I'm really into house, 3rd wave ska, and Blink 182.
TV: I don't watch a lot of TV but I do regularly watch
How I Met Your
Mother and True Blood. I also like old 90s cartoons like
Dexter's Lab, Ren & Stimpy, and The Powerpuff Girls.
Food: I love Puerto Rican/Cuban, Asian, and a really good burger.
But really I'll eat anything so long as it's good.
The six things I could never do without
Good friends, good food, good drinks, good times. After that,
probably art and dogs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Buying a sailboat, traveling the world, learning to play the piano,
building a dream house, getting a dog...
On a typical Friday night I am
I could be out hitting up a few bars or going out dancing. Or I
could be hanging out with friends playing beer pong or Settlers of
Catan. OR I could be hanging out by myself at home where I would
cook myself a big dinner, plop down on the couch, and watch MST3K.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have an account on OKCupid.
I can lie about how we met.
You should message me if
You think I'm interesting or cool and want to get to know me
better.
You want to say hi to a stranger on the internet.
You know a really good joke.
You're a nerdy punk rock boy with a heart of gold.
